Hoyt read a letter from the Board of <br /> Selectmen where they voted to approve an increase in the salary <br /> of Mr. Charles E. Moloy, Janitor, from $38.00 to $40.00 per week <br /> and an increase in the salary of Mr. John L. Murray, Assistant <br /> Janitor, from $27.00 to 029.00 per week. Mr. Paxton, Superin- <br /> tendent of Public Works, wants 0100.00 transferred from the Re- <br /> serve Fund to Town Offices & Cary Memorial Building - Personal <br /> Services Account to take care of these increases, if approved, <br /> and the increase of $3.00 per week granted previously to <br /> Mr. Anthony J. Rochette. After a general discussion, a motion <br /> was made, seconded and voted to transfer 0100.00 from the Reserve <br /> Fund to Town Offices & Cary Memorial Building - Personal Services <br /> Account. <br /> Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt read a letter from George C. <br /> Sheldon, former Chairman of this Committee, and now one of the <br /> Selectmen, thanking the members of this Committee for the very <br /> fine gift presented to him. The letter reads as follows: <br /> "Will you kindly express my appreciation to the entire <br /> Committee, including the absent members, for the very <br /> fine gift they so thoughtfully presented to me Monday <br /> night. <br /> "I feel sure that I shall enjoy smoking the pipe as <br /> much as I did my association with all of you during the <br /> past several years." <br /> Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt read a letter fseceived from the <br /> Board of Selectmen in regards to the Salary Survey and Report, <br /> suggesting that this Committee study and make recommendations as <br /> to changes. There was a general discussion and it was decided <br /> that the Salary Report had served its purpose and further con- <br /> siderRtion would be given later on. <br /> Chairman Hoyt said that George W. Saran, a member of <br /> the Library Trustees, has asked that $150.00 be transferred from <br /> the Reserve Fund to Gary Memorial Library - Expense Account for <br /> the purchase of coal for the year 1944. Because of the shortage <br /> of coal, the Library Trustees would like to put the coal in for <br /> the year of 1944. If the transfer is granted, such sum is to be <br /> ear-marked for the purchase of coal for the year 1944. A motion <br /> was made, seconded and voted to transfer 0150.00 from the Reserve <br /> Fund to Cary Memorial Library - Expense Account and such an <br />
