-2- Secretary was instructed to write to Mr. Emery of this Committee 's approval and to state in this letter that the money is for a three-month period from October 1, 1943, to December 31, 1943. Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt read a letter from the Board of Selectmen where they voted to approve an increase in the salary of Mr. Charles E. Moloy, Janitor, from $38.00 to $40.00 per week and an increase in the salary of Mr. John L. Murray, Assistant Janitor, from $27.00 to 029.00 per week. Mr. Paxton, Superin- tendent of Public Works, wants 0100.00 transferred from the Re- serve Fund to Town Offices & Cary Memorial Building - Personal Services Account to take care of these increases, if approved, and the increase of $3.00 per week granted previously to Mr. Anthony J. Rochette. After a general discussion, a motion was made, seconded and voted to transfer 0100.00 from the Reserve Fund to Town Offices & Cary Memorial Building - Personal Services Account. Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt read a letter from George C. Sheldon, former Chairman of this Committee, and now one of the Selectmen, thanking the members of this Committee for the very fine gift presented to him. The letter reads as follows: "Will you kindly express my appreciation to the entire Committee, including the absent members, for the very fine gift they so thoughtfully presented to me Monday night. "I feel sure that I shall enjoy smoking the pipe as much as I did my association with all of you during the past several years." Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt read a letter fseceived from the Board of Selectmen in regards to the Salary Survey and Report, suggesting that this Committee study and make recommendations as to changes. There was a general discussion and it was decided that the Salary Report had served its purpose and further con- siderRtion would be given later on. Chairman Hoyt said that George W. Saran, a member of the Library Trustees, has asked that $150.00 be transferred from the Reserve Fund to Gary Memorial Library - Expense Account for the purchase of coal for the year 1944. Because of the shortage of coal, the Library Trustees would like to put the coal in for the year of 1944. If the transfer is granted, such sum is to be ear-marked for the purchase of coal for the year 1944.
