The meeting convened at 7:03PM <br /> Historical Commission Members in Attendance: <br /> Marilyn Fenollosa, Chair, Wendall Kalsow, Susan Bennett, David Kelland, Diane Pursley and <br /> Katie Flynn <br /> AGENDA ITEM#1 (7:07PM) <br /> Public hearing regarding the partial building demolition at 9 Audubon Road <br /> APPLICANT (S) PRESENT: <br /> Phyllis Halpern, Architect <br /> Peter Sachs, Architect <br /> Ramu and Kavitha Venkatesan, Homeowners <br /> ABUTTER(S) PRESENT: <br /> Stephen Deutsch, 6 Audubon Road <br /> DOCUMENT(S): <br /> Existing and proposed elevations dated 10/14/2021 <br /> Abutter Letters in support <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> 9 Audubon Road was built in 1907, it is a shingle style and is known as the Katherine Stone <br /> House. Mr. Sachs gave a brief introduction of the proposed addition. Mr. Sachs is proposing to <br /> design an addition to the back of the house to accommodate space for the homeowners' parents <br /> to come and visit. Ms. Halpern described the proposed plans. He is proposing to demolish the <br /> existing one-story screened porch at the back of house, add a one-story living room/music room <br /> addition at back of house, and add a one-story bedroom addition at back of garage. <br /> HC COMMENTS: <br /> Mr. Kalsow asked if they are keeping the existing windows. Ms, Halpern said yes. Ms. Bennett <br /> asked if the garage was added a few years ago. Mr. Sachs said yes it was added a few years ago. <br /> Mr. Kalsow complimented the applicants' drawings clearly showing existing and proposed <br /> elevations. Mr. Kalsow was pleased to see how the plans were thought through to meet the <br /> family's needs and keep the addition in the back of the house. The Commission agreed. <br />
