Furash, Chairman, Peter Hall, Vice Chairman- <br /> Gen. Gov' t. , Donald Whited Vice Chairman-Schools, <br /> John Blaisdell, Secretary, Martin Gilman, Jack Campbell, <br /> Mitzi Kutchin <br /> OBSERVER : Jeff Shaw <br /> I . Chairman Furash called the meeting to order at 7 :45 P.M. <br /> A motion was made by the Chairman to accept the minutes of <br /> July 14, 1976 and August 16, 1976 as approved by Secretary <br /> Blaisdell with the following change : <br /> Re : DPW - Mr. Peter Hall did meet with Messrs. <br /> Kassler and McSweeney on August 18 , 1976 to <br /> discuss "Drainage of the Sanitary Landfill. " <br /> II . BOARD OF ASSESSORS <br /> A communication from Town Assessor Wenham, dated August 23, <br /> 1976 was placed on file. The fiscal 1977 Tax Rate is as <br /> follows : <br /> School rate $52.10 <br /> General rate 28.10 <br /> $80.20 <br /> III . DPW <br /> The following points were made following a meeting with <br /> Messrs. Kassler, John McSweeney and Peter Hall. <br /> a. The town is going to have to make a commitment for a <br /> regional type of refuse disposal. <br /> b. There is a drainage problem from the dump into Kiln Brook <br /> which is a Hatch Act situation. Mrs. Frick is not willing <br /> to have anything done here without a Hatch Act hearing. <br /> Most everyone in attendance was in favor of putting in <br /> the necessary connecting drainage -- along with a gravel <br /> wall in order to keep out the water from 128. Mr. Hall <br /> stated that it was his impression that the DPW is going <br /> to start work on the ditch and retaining wall regardless <br /> of the hearing because the hearing results will be negotiated <br /> unless proof can be given that construction will result in <br />
