Town of Lexington <br /> �\OVS MOP <br /> �� o <br /> s - <br /> 3 <br /> APRIL 19" <br /> J <br /> Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) <br /> Minutes of Meeting May 20th, 2021 <br /> A meeting of the EDAC was held virtually on Thursday, May 20th, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. via zoom. <br /> Members Present: Rick DeAngelis, Chair; John McWeeney, Charlie Minasian; Vice Chair <br /> George Burnnell, Vice Chair; Larry Smith, Vice Chair; Lisa Murray; Adrienne Ortyl; Bridger <br /> McGraw; David Pronchick; Mark Sandeen, BOS liaison; Joe Pato, BOS liaison; Charles Hornig, <br /> Planning Board liaison <br /> Staff Present: Sandhya Iyer, Casey Hagerty <br /> Guests Present: Representative Michelle Ciccolo, Tina McBride <br /> 8:00am The meeting was called to order. <br /> 1. Discussion of Economic Development Initiatives at the State Level <br /> State Representative Michelle Ciccolo was present to give the committee an update about <br /> Economic Development work at the State House. Efforts include: <br /> • An overhaul of the State unemployment laws to help small business overcome some of <br /> the challenges regarding unemployment claims. <br /> • An update on the Governor's Climate Change bill which sets clear deadlines for <br /> becoming carbon neutral and also sets benchmarks and planning requirements. A <br /> • Work on a State bill that would create transportation improvement districts that would <br /> establish a state wide program similar to the Rev Shuttle in Lexington. <br /> • Securing funding for Lexington to plan for the 250'h anniversary of the Battle of <br /> Lexington <br /> • An initiative to expand the PACE program to residential properties <br /> The Committee discussed these initiatives. They have suggested to invite MassDevelopment to <br /> the next committee to learn more about the PACE program and how the committee can help <br /> expand the program in Lexington. <br /> 2. Review of Select Board Goals <br /> Sandhya Iyer provides an update on the 2020 Select Board goals and reminds the committee that <br /> the work plan for the Economic Development Office comes from the Select Board goals. It is <br /> important that the Committee work with Select Board to develop their goals. <br /> 3. Approve Minutes <br /> a. March 3, 2021 <br />
