Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />April 16, 2014 <br />Training Room 201 Bedford Street <br />Members Present <br />Suzie Barry, Chair; Bob Tracey and Dick Crogan, co -Vice Chairs; Kim Coburn, Linda Dixon, Carol Flynn, <br />Karen Gaughan, Mary Gillespie, Cerise Jalelian, Paul Jenkins, Sondra Lucente, Barbara Manfredi, Lorain <br />Marquis, Tanya Morrisett, Rich McDonough, Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Geetha <br />Padaki, Sandy Podgorski, and Charlie Price. <br />Members Not Present <br />Dave Taylor <br />Business <br />• The chair declared that a quorum was present. <br />• The minutes of meetings of April 2 and April 9, 2014 were approved with minor corrections. <br />• Representatives of the Old Guard and town leadership will hold a contingency planning meeting on <br />Friday to discuss the possibility of moving the Old Guard's performance to Cary Hall in case of <br />inclement weather on Saturday. <br />• The committee will hold a final meeting on Friday, April 18 at 3:00 p.m. All paperwork, i.e. parade <br />rosters, youth parade lineup and morning ceremony schedules, will be distributed at that time. <br />• The Shriner mini cars have withdrawn and the status of the sponsorship of this unit is in question. <br />• The Coast Guard Auxiliary unit has withdrawn due to problems with assembling a color guard. <br />Patriots' Weekend Overview <br />Old Guard <br />• Committee volunteers will meet on the Green on Saturday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m. in committee <br />uniform, i.e. Tricorne hat, blue vest, and committee ID, to receive their assignments. <br />• The unit is prepared to cancel the outdoor performance up to 15 minutes prior to start time. <br />• At 2:15 the Old Guard members will board a bus for Brookhaven, where they will enjoy lunch, <br />compliments of Lexington Rotary. <br />Reenactment <br />• The VIP section is oversubscribed with a waiting list. The entire membership of the visiting Old <br />Guard unit has been invited, and a larger than average contingent from Hanscom will be attending. <br />• As part of the new security arrangements, there will be spotlights installed on the Green near the <br />entrance to the VIP seating area and at other strategic points. <br />A.M. Ceremony <br />• Singer Kurt Pfrommer will sing the National Anthem and God Bless America <br />
