Arlmont Fuel Truck
Modification — Lexington Minutemen — add one vehicle
Bridgeport, CT Police Honor Guard
Sponsorship
• To date, 12 business firms have contributed sponsorship funds totaling $7,000. Of these, 10 were
sponsors in the 2013 parade, 1 was a sponsor in a prior parade, and 1 is a new sponsor.
Heritage Band of America
• We have received the link for ordering tickets but it is not yet live on the band's website.
• The committee felt that a program would enhance the event and agreed to handle the printing
and distribution with the band providing the text.
Veterans Day 2014
• Indoor ceremony: Suzie, Lorain and Julie met with Veterans Services Officer Ryan Lennon. With
Cary Hall closed for renovations during 2014, there are very few suitable locations within
walking distance of the Green in which to hold the indoor ceremony. Lorain volunteered to
check out possibilities with Grace Chapel. If that venue is not feasible, the committee agreed that
for this year the Veterans Day ceremony be held on the Green, immediately on the conclusion of
the parade.
• Veterans' Breakfast: After discussion of all aspects of the event including the format, intended
audience, promotional campaign, program and logistics, the committee decided to maintain the
same format as in prior years while returning to the tradition of focusing on veterans from
Lexington. The committee chose Saturday, November 8 as the date for the 2014 breakfast. Julie
will approach her contact at St. Brigid's to book Keilty Hall.
Dance Around the World
The target date for the next Dance Around the World program is spring 2015. The planning group is
assembling and will meet shortly to begin work. All committee members are invited to participate.
The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Linda Dixon, Co- Secretary
