Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />March 26, 2014 <br />Training Room, 201 Bedford Street <br />Members present <br />Suzie Barry, Chair; Dick Crogan and Bob Tracey, co -Vice Chairs; Kim Coburn, Linda Dixon, Carol Flynn, <br />Karen Gaughan, Mary Gillespie, Cerise Jalelian, Sondra Lucente, Barbara Manfredi, Lorain Marquis, <br />Rich McDonough, Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Sandy Podgorski, Charlie Price <br />Members not present <br />Paul Jenkins, Tanya Morrisett, Geetha Padaki, Dave Taylor <br />Business <br />• The chair declared that a quorum was present. <br />• Approval of the minutes of March 19, 2014 will be deferred until the next meeting <br />• Dorothy Tutko attended as a guest <br />Jackets <br />• Sandy handed out sample jackets from Screens and Stitches, the firm used and recommended by <br />the Lexington Minutemen. Polyester jackets run about $26 and polar fleece jackets $36, with a $5 <br />additional charge for a stitched emblem ($10 if we buy the jackets from another vendor). <br />• Charlie has approached the former supplier of trophies for the town, now operating under a new <br />name. This firm offers an American -made polyester jacket for $35 plus $8 -10 for the emblem. <br />• The committee preferred the American -made jacket and authorized Charlie to arrange an order <br />using the Minuteman/ Buckman Tavern patch. <br />Patriots Day 2014 <br />• Calendar of Events: Suzie handed out copies of the official Patriots' Day Weekend calendar. Dick <br />and Sandy will distribute to all key official sites and major gathering places. <br />• A.M. Ceremony: We are strongly urging the Lexington High School Band to provide a singer for <br />the morning ceremony. <br />• Parade Ambassadors: We are now up to 20 volunteers. Linda has produced a flyer which she, Dick <br />and Sandy are distributing around town. The recruitment notice has been submitted to the <br />Lexington List and Help Around Town and sent to the Lexington Clergy Association. It will appear <br />in the March 27 issue of the Minuteman. Linda re -sent the invitation to prior Ambassadors and <br />received several immediate responses. <br />Applications <br />• The committee approved the following applications for participation at no fee: <br />Lexington Tourism Committee, The Liberty Ride <br />Dance Inn <br />Lexington High School Class of 1964 <br />Lexington Historical Society (Antique Fire Engine) <br />
