LHRC PROJECT 2011
Planning Committee Summary
Minutes
For November 4, 2011
Things are winding down now. There are just two more days to go. We have
received good help from the Lexington Minuteman through Ben Aaronson and
Samantha Smith with the publication of four articles. Patrick Ball from Lexington
Patch interviewed some of the Planning Committee and wrote a nice piece for
Thursday. Brock Parker from the Boston Globe showed quite some interest. I do
not know how he used the material he was sent.
A few people have responded to share their stories on Sunday. The panel is pretty
much set with Rev. Landon Lindsay coming in this morning and is staying with
Gerald McLeod. Edgar Smith and his wife will stay in a local Lexington hotel and
they will visit friends while here.
Alan Booth has to find transportation on Sunday. We may have to meet him at
Alewife or the Burlington Mall if he can't get a ride from anyone. He will be
bringing his three and a half year old granddaughter. We may have to keep an eye
on her while he is on the panel.
The Library has made up a three -fold bibliography to hand out at the program. A
program booklet will be printed up by Wales today. The time line has been
completed by Susan Bennett and Nancy Earsy has put the exhibit together. Fuang
and Leona, as well as other members of the committee, have been in touch with
publicity sources. The Boston Globe and Lexington Patch have both inquired
about the program. Patrick Ball of Lexington Patch wrote a nice piece about
Sunday. He will not be there as he will be in NH, but may send someone.
At Bob Kent's request, there is a planned rehersal at 12:30 p.m. at Cary. Hank
Manz has agreed to help with the logistics at Cary Hall including microphones, etc.
The Planning Committee will be there to set up the exhibits at that time as well.
We must thank the Town of Lexington and the Lexington Fund for taking care of
our expenses. Because of low funds, we decided to host a pot -luck supper at Depot
LHRC PROJECT 2011 REPORT TO COMMITTEE - 9/23/2011 Page 1
