<br />Page 1 of 11 <br /> <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />Monday, March 18, 2019 <br />A meeting of the Lexington Board of Selectmen was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, <br />March 18, 2019 in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room of the Town Office Building. Present were <br />Selectmen Ms. Barry, Chair; Mr. Pato; Mr. Lucente; Ms. Hai; and Mr. Sandeen. Also present <br />were Mr. Malloy, Town Manager; Ms. Axtell, Assistant Town Manager; and Ms. Siebert, <br />Recording Secretary. <br />Ms. Barry reported that the Lexington Interfaith Clergy Association (LICA) has indicated it will <br />hold a service to honor and mourn the 50 people slain at two mosques in Christchurch, New <br />Zealand. Details of the service will be shared with the community once they are available. On <br />behalf of the Selectmen, Ms. Barry emphasized that all are welcome and safe in Lexington. <br />Public Comments <br />Bob Pressman, 22 Locust Avenue, asked if progress has been made on interim improvements to <br />crosswalk lighting on Massachusetts Avenue prior to commencement of the proposed Center <br />Streetscape project. Mr. Malloy reported that a streetlighting update about will be provided at a <br />future meeting. <br />Selectmen Concerns and Liaison Reports <br />Ms. Barry: <br /> The 2018 Annual Report is now available. Copies will be available in the lobby of the <br />Cary Memorial Building during Annual Town Meeting as well as at the Town Office <br />Building, Cary Library, and the Community Center. Ms. Barry thanked the new Chair of <br />the Town Report Committee, Nancy Cowan, and noted that the Report is dedicated to <br />former Selectmen’s Office Executive Clerk, Lynne Arden Pease. <br />Mr. Lucente: <br /> Mr. Lucente and Mr. Pato attended a community forum about planning for an age- <br />friendly future in Lexington that was held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. A second forum <br />is scheduled for March 25, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Center. <br />Mr. Sandeen: <br /> Mr. Sandeen has been asked by the Boston City Council to testify about Net Zero <br />buildings on Thursday, March 21, 2019. <br />Mr. Pato: <br /> Mr. Pato reported that he has been contacted by residents who experienced a near- <br />accident while crossing Massachusetts Avenue in a crosswalk in the Center. <br /> <br /> <br />
