Mr. Wolk was not part of
the roll call vote but joined the Committee in executive session in the Selectmen's Meeting
Room.
1) Executive Session with Board of Selectmen-After convening in its own executive
session, the CPC joined the Board of Selectmen's executive session in the Selectmen's
Meeting Room to discuss the Judges Road/ Pine Grove affordable housing request. Liz
Rust, Director of the Regional Housing Services Office (RHSO), reviewed a memo
detailing the updated terms of the proposal. The appraised value for each of the five
rental units was $220,000. Ms. Rust explained that the total CPA request was
$1,032,000 which would include the acquisition of those five units, renovation funds for
the acquired units and the purchase of the expiring deed restrictions. Suzie Barry, Board
of Selectmen Chairman, asked each CPC member in attendance for their questions and
comments.
The CPC questioned if the total request would adequately cover the costs for
renovations, housing restrictions and legal fees or if additional funding would be
requested in the future. Ms. Rust was confident that the requested funds would be
adequate for the proposed renovations to five units and Carl Valente, Town Manager,
explained that he had an inquiry in to Town Counsel to determine legal fees.
1
