BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />MARCH 19, 1985 <br />The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Health was held Tuesday, <br />March 19, 1985 at 7:15 p.m. in Room 111 of the Town Office Building. <br />Members present were: Mr. James W. Lambie, Chairman; Dr. Donald A. Goldmann, <br />Dr. Howard B. Asarkof, Mr. George A. Smith, Jr., Director of Public Health; <br />and Mrs. Deborah J. Halko, Sanitarian. <br />The minutes of the February 20, 1985 meeting were accepted as read. <br />Mrs. Debbie Halko, Sanitarian, gave her report to the Board. She told <br />them how she had gone out on an asbestos inspection. <br />Mr. Lambie wanted to know what the outcome of the inspection was. <br />Mrs. Halko said it would be rapaired rather than town out. Asbestos <br />problems can be overcome by wrapping it up properly. <br />Mr. Smith told the Board when there is an asbestos problem he sends <br />the person a list of approved labs for testing, a list of contractors and <br />also an article on how to have asbestos removed. <br />Mrs. Halko told the Board how she had worked on a cockroach article for <br />the Monograph Series. It is geared to food service areas where they are <br />fould, the proper treatment to get rid of them, etc. <br />Mrs. Halko told the Board she is getting ready for the swimming pool <br />season. Re: lifeguard requirements, CPR, certifications, etc. It will be <br />part of our newsletter for pools. <br />Mr. Smith, Health Director, introduced Mrs. Dorothy Chase, a new member <br />of the Health Department staff to the Board. <br />The Board welcomed Mrs. Chase and told her it was nice to have her <br />with us. <br />Mr. William Hamilton, Landmark Associates, came before the Board to <br />explain his plans for Farmhurst Section 5 - Valleyfield Street. <br />459 <br />SANITARIAN'S <br />REPORT <br />INTRODUCTION <br />OF NEW STAFF <br />MEMBER <br />FARMHURST 5 <br />Mr. Hamilton told the Board that this subdivision has been cut down VALLEYFIELD <br />to three houses. He said that the Conservation Commission has passed STREET <br />this plan. <br />Mr. Hamilton explained the drainage, water and sewage to the Board. <br />It is a standard subdivision. <br />After further discussion, the Board thanked Mr. Hamilton and Mr. <br />Hamilton retired. <br />DUNBACK <br />Mr. Smith told the Board about an oil spill into the Bowman School MEADOW <br />Brook.
