345 <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />July 19, 1982 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held Monday, July 19, 1982 <br />at 7:15 p.m. in Room G-1 (Recreation Office) of the Town Office Building. <br />Members present were: James W. Lambie, Chairman; Michael S. Erdos, M.D. <br />and Linda Roemer, Ph.D. <br />At 7:30 p.m. Lauren Goldfarb of Adams -Russell Cable T.V. came into the LAREN GOLDFARB, <br />meeting. CABLE T.V. <br />She came to explain the cable T.V. as relates to the community. They <br />encourage local programming and felt that perhaps the Board of Health <br />could plan programs relating to Health and to senior citizens. <br />The Board discussed how it would be good for announcing the Fall Clinics <br />and also the Rabies Clinics. Mr. Smith said it could also be used to <br />announce the "recalls" of tins of food that are contaminated. <br />Lauren Goldfarb said they would be having workshops to train people for <br />public programing and have interns to develop programs with you. They will <br />also train people in the use of the equipment. The public can either produce <br />their own shows or they have people available to help with this project. <br />They will also have a channel for "public announcements". <br />After further discussion, Ms. Goldfarb thanked the Board and retired. <br />At eight o'clock, Mr. Robert Hutchinson, Town Manager, joined the Board at <br />their meeting. Mr. Hutchinson said that he liked to meet and sit with TOWN MANAGER <br />each board at least once a year. <br />He discussed with the Board the general problems and what the Board is doing <br />and what they want to do, what the priorities of the Board and Department <br />are. Mr. Hutchinson would like the Board to articulate the goals for the <br />next year. He will meet with the Selectmen in September and present their <br />goals to them. <br />Mr. Hutchinson said he knows the "Dog Department" is a drain on the office. <br />He is looking to see just what can be done with it but he cannot promise <br />anything. <br />Mr. Smith told the Manager that we are planning a Diabetes Training Program <br />course in the Fall. <br />After further discussion, Mr. Hutchinson thanked the Board and retired. <br />Mr. Smith reported to the Board that Debora Chiklis, Sanitarian, was busy <br />checking on the restaurants and inplant cafeterias. SANITARIAN <br />We also had another tuna recall and Debbie has checked out all of the stores <br />in Town. <br />Mr. Smith told the Board he has the Animal Control Officer into inspecting <br />barns now. Kazazian on Concord Avenue needs cleaning up and Keshian on Lowell <br />
