<br />PUBLIC MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Conservation Commission <br /> <br />Meeting broadcasted by LexMedia <br /> <br />___________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA Monday, March 25, 2024, 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />This Conservation Commission meeting was held remotely via Zoom, an online meeting <br />platform. Public Participation via calling in or using your computer was encouraged. <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: Kevin Beuttell, Duke Bitsko, Alex Dohan, Philip Hamilton (Chair), <br />Jason Hnatko, Ruth Ladd (Vice-Chair) and Tom Whelan <br /> <br />Staff Present: Karen Mullins, Conservation Director and Megan Downer, Department Assistant <br /> <br />6:30 PM <br /> <br />New Business/Pending Matters <br /> <br />ATM Citizen’s Petition, Art. 37: Importance of Trees Resolution <br />Mr. Charlie Wyman, Chair of the Land Acquisition Subcommittee, presented the article that is <br />the fourth tree article to be presented to Town Meeting in 2024. Mr. Wyman stated the Tree <br />Committee is asking Town Meeting to adopt the resolution, declaring the importance of trees. He <br />stated that this was submitted as a Citizen Petition to direct the town to create a robust tree <br />canopy to protect the town from climate change and work towards the goal of widespread public <br />shade and tree-lined streets. The article proposes that the town consider the value of trees while <br />making budgetary decisions that affect trees. <br /> <br />On a motion by Ms. Ladd and seconded by Ms. Dohan, the Commission voted 7-0 by roll call to <br />vote to support Article 37. <br /> <br />Record of Vote as Follows: <br /> <br />Kevin Beuttell – Aye <br />Duke Bitsko – Aye <br />Alex Dohan – Aye <br />Ruth Ladd – Aye <br />Philip Hamilton – Aye <br />Jason Hnatko – Aye <br />Tom Whelan – Aye <br /> <br />6:39 PM <br /> <br />Enforcement: 843 Emerson Gardens Road <br /> <br />
