MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE <br /> HELD AT THE TY-N OFFICE BUILDING, MONDAY <br /> EVENING, May 20, 1946. <br /> The meeting was opened in the office of the Town <br /> Accountant at 8:10 P.m. , by temporary Acting Chairman George <br /> Hynes, with the following members in attendance : <br /> George M. Hynes, Acting Chairman <br /> J. Milton Brown Michael J. Hopkins <br /> red C. Neyha11 Thacker Jenney <br /> Harvey F. Winlock Jasper A. Lane <br /> Lewis L. Hoyt Raymond L. !Yhite, <br /> Town Accountant <br /> Yr. Lewis L. Hoyt stated that the Moderator, the <br /> Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, and' himself, acting as <br /> Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, met last evening, <br /> May 19, 1946, to choose the three members for the Appropriation <br /> Committee. <br /> Harvey F. Winlock and Thacher Jenr_ey rrere re- <br /> appointed for a term of three years, but the third member <br /> has not been chosen as yet. <br /> Hoyt state'9 that he is not a candidate for re- <br /> election as Chairman for this coming year. Thacher Jenney <br /> nominated J. Milton Brown for Chairman, 'out Mr. Brown stated <br /> that he would not accept the Chairmanship. There was a <br /> nominati -'n for Fred C. Newhall. Mr. Newhall said he had to <br /> decline the nomination as his present position with the bank <br /> would not allow it. Again J. Milton Brown was nominated, and <br /> the Committee voted unanimously to appoint him as Chairman. <br /> Mr. Brown accepted the nomination. <br /> The next parson to be elected was the Secretary. <br /> Raymond L. Mite was elected for the ensiiling year. <br /> Mr. Brown immediately took the chair ns Chairman <br /> of this meeting and proceeded ?• . th the items rhich were to <br /> come before tbi.s meeting. <br />
