M_TItUTT_+'.S OF TFT7 MFFTING OF THE APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE <br /> HELY AT TuF TON OFYICE "TTILLr)ING, MONDAY <br /> EVENING, ATTGUST 20, 1945. <br /> The meeting was opened at the Public Works Building <br /> at 7:30 P.m. , by Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt, with the following <br /> members in attendance : <br /> Lewis L. Hoyt, Chairman <br /> Thacher Jenney Ronald D. Brown <br /> George M. Hynes J. Milton Brown <br /> Jasper A. Lane Michael J. Hopkins <br /> Harvey ?"`inlock <br /> Raymond L. White, <br /> Town Accountant. <br /> Col. Harry B. Barry spoke and stated that he wanted <br /> to show the members around, and to look at the different <br /> equipment a.s he had requested from the Board of Selectmen <br /> over 03,000.00 for the Highway Road Machinery Account; which <br /> item included •lust maintenance of the present equipment. <br /> Col. Barry then took the members around, Pointing out the <br /> different equipment, stating the age and the condition of same. <br /> The members went over the entire building. We then proceeded <br /> to the Town Office Building and reconvened in the office of <br /> the Town Accountant, at 8:12 P.m. <br /> Col. Barry was adm" teed to go over his requests. <br /> He stated that he figured .83,130.00 was necessary for just <br /> maintenance of the Highway Road Machinery items to <br /> December 31, 1945. However, Col. Barry stated that the <br /> Board of Selectmen recommended 02, 500 .00 to this Committee . <br /> Col. Barry further said that 023,842.80 was the total for <br /> new equipment now on order - which shows that the Highway <br /> Road Machinery Budget has already been spent. <br /> Col. Barry then spoke about the condition of the <br /> Dump. He stated that he requested 0690.00 from the Board <br /> of Selectmen which was necessary to take care of the Dump <br /> to December 3' , 1945. However, the Board of Selectmen <br /> recommended to this Committee the sum of 0600.00. Col. Barry <br />
