MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE <br /> HELD AT THE TOWN OFFICE BUILDING, MONDAY <br /> EVENING, SEPTEMBER 25, 1944. <br /> Notification of this meeting was furnished to all mem- <br /> bers of the Committee. <br /> The meeting was opened in the office of the Town Account- <br /> ant at 2: 00 P.M. , by Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt, with the following <br /> members in attendance: <br /> Lewis L. Hoyt, Chairman <br /> George M. Hynes Raymond A. Bond <br /> Harvey F. Winlock Ronald D. Brown <br /> Thacher Jenney Carl E. Bryant <br /> Raymond L. White, Town Accountant <br /> Minutes of the Meeting Held June 23, 1944. <br /> It was regularly moved and voted to dispense with the <br /> reading of the minutes of the regular meeting held June 23, <br /> 1944. <br /> ic3:-* *9:-i5i'r7:* <br /> Mr. Donald Nickerson, representing the Committee to <br /> obtain plans , specifications and estimates for the construction <br /> of new Fire Stations, was admittedto this meeting. <br /> Mr. Nickerson stated that there was an error in arriving <br /> at the sum for plans , specifications and estimates for East <br /> Lexington Fire Station. This station is to be a two-door station <br /> with dormitories for ten men. Mr. Nickerson said they were <br /> talking of a! 00,000 building and had selected Eugene Morgan <br /> to do the designing. When asked if consideration was being given <br /> to furnishiigs of the stations, his reply was no . Mr. Nickerson <br /> further stated that the Architect, Eugene Morgan, is to submit <br /> informal estimates based on January 1, 1941 costs . <br /> The Committee has made the following arrangements: <br /> G. E. Robinson, Architect, has been engaged as a consultant. <br /> He is considered a fire station expert. Leland and Larson, <br /> Architects, have been engaged for the Main fire station . The <br /> Committee chose them on the basis of their well-designed buildings. <br />
