<br />Lexington Council for the Arts <br />Approved Meeting Minutes – May 12, 2014 at Town Offices Building – Parker Room <br />Attendance <br />Present – Lynne Klemmer, Cristina Burwell, Diana South, Zoe Perry-Wood, <br /> Emily Passman, Jessie Steigerwald <br />Visiting - Matthew Pronchick <br />Absent – Cheryl Meadow, Regie O-Hare Gibson, Jean Hart, <br /> Minutes were taken by Jessie Steigerwald (Secretary) <br />Secretary's report – Jessie Steigerwald <br />Minutes from March and April were reviewed by members. Diana South made a motion to <br />approve the minutes from March 10, 2014 and Cristina seconded the motion. The minutes <br />were approved unanimously. Lynne Klemmer moved to approve minutes from April 14, <br />2014, Diana South seconded the motion. The minutes were approved unanimously. <br />Treasurer’s report – Diana South <br />Diana reports that there was no activity that impacted our accounts. Our current local <br />account balance (funds that revolve and are used at our discretion): $3,059.84. <br />Chairperson report - Cristina Burwell <br />2013 Grant updates: <br />Cristina emailed contact for Lexington Symphony and noted that we are following MCC <br />rules and unable to reimburse for expenses submitted after the year has expired. <br />2014 Grant updates: No updates. <br />Community Center updates: <br />a.Questions about art/furnishings policy <br />Will work be insured? <br />Will art be on loan? Will it be “given”? <br />Art room will have wall space available – is that for display of work that has <br />been created through CC programs? <br />Can some part of walls be WORKING WALLS? <br />Example: tack board for quilters and/or rug walls to hold up Velcro <br />(See Parsons Gallery – at Lex. Arts and Crafts Society) <br />Nice to have other wall space for artists to use to lay out larger projects! <br />Hallway gallery outside art room? <br />First floor – display cases to protect additional work <br />Ground floor – different spaces for children & community engagement <br />Walls should be treated in a way that maximizes display of art <br />What is usage for walls?
