Short term <br />counseling is ongoing at Sr Ctr with students from the 2 <br />middle schools and high school. Four community service students <br />were interviewed and set to volunteer in summer 2011. Youth Services <br />Council has appointed 2 new student reps. In partnership with Rec <br />Dept., 54 students from Clarke and Diamond enjoyed a field trip to <br />Kimball Farms in May. Together with the Health Dept, Youth <br />Services guided a student rep from the YSC in conducting 37 tobacco <br />compliance checks in Lexington, Winchester and Bedford. Five <br />vendors sold to students, two of those in Lexington. Laurie <br />participated in a review of the YRBS instrument adding relevant <br />questions in the area of youth sleeping habits. <br />Fuel Assistance: <br />This service ended for the season on Apria 30th. Applications for help <br />have doubled for Lexington residents, reflecting the national trend. <br />Youth gathering in the Center: <br />Lea reported an incident involving "rough housing" youths in the <br />center especially on Thursday afternoons.
