Lexington Council for the Arts Minutes for Meeting of June 2, 2008 Room 111, Town Office Building Present: Barbara Ciampa, co-chair, Zoe Perry Wood, co-chair; Janet Post, Secretary; Jonathan Cue; Jackie Hawkinson; Mary Trometer, Treasure; Sirarpi Heghinian Walzser; George Burnell Absent: Jan Goplerud; Bill Janowitz; Myron Rosenblum; Louise Cady-Fernandes Call to Order Barbara called the meeting to order at 7:15 Secretary's Report The minutes for the May ‘08 meeting were accepted. Treasurer's Report There is a balance of $ 11,178.16 in the treasury. It was noted that there is 2, 347.16 in the Patrons Fund. There was a discussion about how the web-hosting bill is paid through Sirarpi’s credit card. A better way to handle that bill was discussed. The treasurer's report was accepted. Report on Discovery Day and the Art Hunt Barbara and Jackie reported that the table and the pencils were a great success. She gave away more than 100 pencils. Parents were appreciative of the Art Hunt. Janet went to the library and picked up the Art Hunt forms. There were about one dozen. It was discussed that next year we should distribute them to the schools so that we really reach the children. All agreed that our presence at Discovery Day was well worth it. It also fulfills the MCC requirement to reach out to the community. Dimmock Award There was enough interest to make up the entire award, so we did not need to add any money from the LACK funds. The award was given to Michiline Soley.
