Web site

There is currently a discussion among the Selectmen about how websites for
Committees are organized. The Selectmen don’t want to edit the websites but they
also don’t want Committee websites saying things that are not town policy. A town
staff person runs the town webpage. The Town manage has a website committee.

It was noted that all other towns with Arts Councils have webpages. There
is currently no policy about Committee websites in Lexington. The Selectmen are
working on a policy, but according to George, “This is a moving target.”

According to George, there are 50 Town Committees whose main job is to
advise the Selectmen on how to allocate the budget etc.

The plan for the webpage is currently for seven pages: Home, Grants, Arts
in Lexington, current events, support us.

George will speak with the Town Manger about our webpage proposal. He
will see what is the best way for us to proceed. George reminded us that he said a
year a go that he wants to help us to expand our horizons.

Sirarpi feels that she cannot keep the website up while we wait for feedback
from George.

October 2008

Barbara and Zoe met with MCC the organizers of the fall event at the
Museum of Our National Heritage. They have asked us to come up with ideas for
gifts for the guests. Jon stated that he and Bill spoke with Peets and they would be
willing to put together a gift basket. An idea of having Minutemen and drummers
appear at the event. Everyone is encouraged to think of some ideas

Patrons Fund

Ideas were discussed about fundraising

Summer Meetings

July does not look like a good month to meet, because many people will be
away. Our next meeting will be on August 25th at 7:00 PM in room 111 of the town
office building.

Meeting adjourned at 9:15
