Van Seasholes, James Hollister (NPS), Donna Hooper [300 Committee] Polly Kienle <br />th <br />(National Heritage Museum), Larry Link, Shelby Kashket <br /> <br />A: <br />GENDA <br /> <br />1.ESU <br />VENTS CHEDULE PDATES <br />TH <br /> <br />2.ECP300E <br />STABLISHING OMMON RACTICES ACROSS VENTS <br />TH <br /> <br />3.T300AY <br />HEMES FOR THE NNIVERSARY EAR <br /> <br />4.NI/C <br />EW DEASONTACTS <br /> <br />5.NS <br />EXT TEPS <br /> <br />Events Subcommittee Chair Jessie Steigerwald called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. <br />Jessie distributed an updated contact list and requested members confirm their <br />information. <br />th <br />Draft minutes for the July 13 meeting were distributed for review and a vote <br />later in the meeting. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1.ESU: <br />VENTS CHEDULE PDATES <br />Jessie outlined the major events for the 2012-2013 celebration, with a September <br />2012 ‘Kickoff’, March 2013 ‘Incorporation Weekend, and May 2013 ‘Closing’. <br /> <br />Tanya reviewed reservation needs, importance of communicating event schedules <br />th <br />to other Lexington groups so as to not conflict with Lexington 300 plans, <br />advantage of issuing a ‘save the date’ postcard, need to contact Lexington Patch, <br />Lexington Minuteman, Colonial Times and other publications for publicity. <br />A possible ‘Save the Date, you’re about to be 300’ was suggested. <br /> <br /> <br />TH <br /> <br />2.ECP300E <br />STABLISHING OMMON RACTICES ACROSS VENTS <br />Color Scheme <br /> – With the decal already blue and yellow, it was suggested the <br />color RED be added [along with white], for a red-yellow-blue color scheme. <br /> <br />Publicity <br />– Discussion continued on publicizing events, with suggestion that we <br />‘push’ publicity along with ongoing ‘silent’ opportunities such as tax bill <br />mailings, web site, voting days, other gathering events. <br /> <br />Community Forum is scheduled for September 21, 2011 at Cary Library. <br />Jessie distributed a copy of concept flyer for publicity that all deemed very good. <br />Discussion ensued on additional formats/needs such as small/large poster showing <br />key information. With that, the importance of the need to confirm the celebration <br />theme was discussed. <br /> <br />Opening Ceremony <br /> – Jessie reviewed general plans.
