Cole, Jr. <br /> MOTION: To amend the General By Laws of the Town by <br /> inserting after ARTICLE XXIX thereof `the following new <br /> article: <br /> ARTICLE XXX <br /> MUNICIPAL DATA PROCESSING CENTER <br /> Section 1. The Town shall have a Municipal Data <br /> Processing Center for the use of any department, office, <br /> board, comnittee or agency of the Town, including the <br /> school committee and any public authority the activities <br /> of which are confined to the Town. <br /> Section 2. Said center shall be under the super- <br /> vision and control of the Data Processing Coordinator, <br /> who shall be the Comptroller appointed under the <br /> provisions of Chapter 777 of the Acts of 1965 and <br /> who shall provide programs or systems for the <br /> collection, processing, storage and retrieval of in- <br /> formation and the preparation of reports. <br /> 10:35 P. Scharfman moves to refer this matter to a <br /> committee, to be appointed by the Moderator, composed <br /> of town meeting members and representatives from <br /> Appropriation Committee, Capital Expenditure, School <br /> Committee, Board of Selectmen and the Comptroller to <br /> study the feasibility of establishing a Municipal Data <br /> Processing Center for the use of any department, - <br /> office, board, committee and agency of the Town, in-, <br /> eluding the school committee and any public authority <br /> within the Town. The committee shall make a report to - <br /> the Annual Town Meeting of 1969, including a recommenda- <br /> tion for appropriation needed to implement the <br /> committee's recommendations, <br /> 10:40 P. M. <br /> Allen Lee Whitman, Jr. moves to amend the amendment by <br /> striking out the word "Moderator" and substituting -" <br /> therefor the words "Town- Treasurer". - This amendment <br /> was declared lost by voice vote. 10:47 P.
