T . & C CONSTRUCTION, ADAMS STREET <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve Extra Work <br />Order #1, for Adams Street Resurfacing by J. T. & C. Construction, in the <br />amount of #25,910.77 <br />9HOATELSYMMES PROPOSAL, ARTICLE 47 <br />.-.3 - <br />April 28, 1986 <br />Mr. Marshall asked Board members if they desired to take an official <br />position on the Choate /Symmes proposal for a life - facility o Waltham <br />Street, <br />Mr. Dailey stated that si he represented the Ri family, owners of <br />the property, he would not take part in discussion of the proposal and would <br />abstain f rom voting on it. He had so inf ormed the Town Clerk. <br />Mr. Eddi expressed his support of the Article and stated his <br />intention to state his position as an individual, regardless of the Board's <br />view. <br />Motion was made by Mr. Eddison, seconded by Mrs. Smith that the <br />Selectmen take a position in support of Article 47. <br />pow Mr. McSweeney noted that he had reviewed the Planning Board's report <br />and in the light of its findings, would also support the proposal. <br />Mrs. Smith added that Choate /Symmes had been sensitive to neighborhood <br />concerns and had revised its plans accordingly by reducing the sire of the <br />facility to more appropriately fit the site. She said she was pleased that <br />Lexington residents were, within provisions of the Law, assured of <br />preference. <br />Mr. Marshall also said he plans to vote for Article 47. The four <br />voting members agreed that Mr. Eddison would speak for the Board. <br />Motion having been made and seconded, it was voted 4 to a, with Mr. <br />Dailey abstaining, to support Arti 47. <br />PUBLIC HEAR I N O N . TELEPHONE COMPANY LASS - A~'EN U MA►PI� S�.REET <br />Mr. Marshall opened the publi hearing on the petition of New England <br />Telephone Company for perm to install 95± feet of conduit at locations <br />on Mass. Avenue and Maple Street. <br />John Drury, representing the Telephone Company, explained the <br />installation plans and the need for the work to increase service to the <br />area, <br />A memorandum f rom Wal ter Tonasxuck , Director of Public Works <br />Engineering, recommending approval of the project was noted. <br />John Oalligan, 5 Maple Street, noted the narrowness of Maple Street at <br />that point and asked how long the work would take. Mr. Drury estimated two <br />days and added that plans will be coordinated with the Town Manager to <br />""` ensure minimal traffic disruption, <br />There being no other comments in favor or in opposition, the Ch ai rman <br />declared the hearing closed. <br />Upon motion duly.made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />petiti plan and orders of the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company <br />to lap and maintain approximately 12 feet of underground conduit in <br />
