U <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />} <br />September 24, 1984 <br />A regular meeting, f the Board of Selectmen was held in the Select - <br />me' s Meetin g Room, Town. Office Building, ilding, on Monday, September 24 1984, <br />at 7:30 P .m. Chairman Battin, Mr. Sacco, Mr. McLaughlin, Mr. Marshall, <br />Mr. Eddison; Mr. Hutchinson, Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel; <br />Ms. Adler,.Assistant to the Town Manager and Mrs. Snow, Executive Clerk, <br />were present. <br />Chairman Battin opened the Public Hearing on the petition of New Eng- P. Hearing <br />land p Company Tel Com an and Boston Edison Company for permission to install N.E.Te1.Co. <br />ajanty pole, jointly owned ole anchor and guy at.North Emerson Road. Bstn.Edison <br />Mr. Kelley,, representing Boston Edison Company and Mr. McCar.t of N.Emerson <br />New England 'Telephone Company were present. Mr . � .Kelley explained - the need Rd. <br />for the installation to provide service for three homes in that area, <br />Mrs. Battin noted that legal notice had been given abuttors and that <br />the Director of Public,'Works had recommended approval of the request. <br />There being no statements in opposition or in favor, Mrs, Battin de- <br />clared the hearing closed.. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the peti- <br />tion of the New England Telephone Company and Boston Edison Company to <br />locate one F ole, anchor and guy ors the northerly side of North Emerson Road, <br />approximately 120' westerly of Diamond Road. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the minutes <br />of the Selectmen's Goal Setting Meeting on June 28, 1984, as amended. Minutes, <br />Upon m otion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the 6/28 & <br />minutes of the meeting of the Board of Selectmen on September 10, 1984, 9/10/84 <br />as presented. <br />Upon motion dul y made and seconded, it was voted 4 - D, with Mr. Sacco Adams/ <br />i in to return to discussion of the request of Adams /Russell for Russell <br />absta n g, d been tabled at the September lO filming of <br />filming of Selectmen's Meetings, which ha <br />meetin g- <br />meetings <br />Mr. Sacco noted that the matter had been tabled pending ressalut -ion <br />of his concerns <br />i regarding Adams /Russell's programming standards, but since <br />g g <br />Adams /Russell appears to be addressing the matter, scheduled for further <br />discussion on October 1, he would not object to action on the filming re- <br />quest now. - <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to permit Adams/ <br />P y <br />Russell to proceed with arrangements for the filming and taping of Select - <br />men's Meeting. The operation, including use of lighting and audio equip- <br />ment a as well as any proposed changes in the seating arrangement, will be <br />undertaken on an experimental basis, not to interfere with the normal con- <br />duct of business. The Town Manager will work with Adams /Russell on details <br />relative to preparation of-the room for the filming* <br />Regarding the programming issue brought up by Mr. Sacco, Mr. Hutchin- <br />$00ft son reported that Mr. Pollack of Adams/Russell had been responsive to ob- <br />
