Ms. Goldfarb indicated that <br />there , had been much public interest in the filming of the meetings. She des- <br />cribed the equipment . t o be used as a single camera, two small lights and four <br />table microphones to be shared by those at the meeting table. Ms. Goldfarb <br />offered to provide a demonstration of the set-up, prior to the Selectmen's <br />vote on the request. <br />Members were in general agreement that they saw merit in concept of <br />cablecasting the meetings, and would be willing to try it on an experimental <br />basis, but expressed concern with the lighting, sharing of microphones, and <br />Ms. Goldf arh' s suggested change. in seating. arrangement. <br />Mr. Sacco stated tba.t. he would vote negatively on the request at this <br />Playboy Ch. <br />time if there is no move to table the issue, since concerns he had discussed <br />with the Town Manager, the audio airing of the Playboy channel, had <br />' involving <br />not been resolved. He felt that. steps should be taken by Adams /Russell to <br />ensure that the sound track of these programs, which he described as offensive, <br />is not broadcast indiscriminately into the homes of cable customers, to the <br />possible detriment of children. <br />The Town Manager was supportive of . the experiment to offer public infor- <br />mation access, ma intaining , the same ' s eating arrangement at the meeting table* <br />In response to Mr. Hayward, Ms. Goldfarb said additional microphones <br />could provided for comments from the audience. <br />Mr. Hutchinson, referring to Mr. Sacco' s concerns regarding programming <br />offered, suggested that current offerings appeared to be inconsistent with <br />Adams /Russ ell' s original agreement with the Selectmen, and agreed that the <br />sound track should be scrambled for those who do not want it . He will confer <br />with Mr . Pollack of Adams /Russell on means to resolve the issue and will report <br />to the Board. <br />
