' SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />N <br />ku <br />February 13, 1984 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the <br />Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Office Building on Monday, February 13, <br />1984, at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Politi, Mrs. Battin, Mr. Sacco, <br />Mr, McLaughlin; Mr. Hutchinson, Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel; <br />Miss Adler, Assistant to the Town Manager and Mrs. Snow, Acting Exe-- <br />cut ive Clerk', were present . <br />The Chairman opened the hearing,on the petition of the Boston Public Hear. - <br />Edison Company for permission to .ins,tall approximately sixty feet of ing , Boston <br />conduit in Westview Street. Edison <br />Mr. Edmund Kelley, representative of Boston Edison Company, ex Westy iew St. <br />plained that the work is necessary to provide electric service to <br />Kiln Brook Iv of f ice Park. <br />No one spoke in favor or in opposition 'axid the Chairman declared <br />the hearing closed. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />petition of the Boston Edison Company for installation of conduit in <br />Westview Street, approximately 535 feet east of Maguire Road, a.dis- <br />tance of about sixty feet.' <br />The Board reviewed the petition of the New England Telephone Boston Ed i- <br />Company and Boston Edison Company for the transfer of ownership of son,N. E. Tel <br />thirteen jointly owned poles located on Massachusetts Avenue to the transfer of <br />Boston Edison Company. No public hearing was required. poles <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded it was voted to approve the <br />petition of the New England Telephone Company afnd Boston Edison Company <br />for the transfers of ownership thirteen poles on the southerly side <br />of Massachusetts Avenue, approximately 139' westerly of the south- <br />westerly intersection of Marrett Road. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to the Bond, Town <br />Massachusetts Local Official Bond on behalf of Mary R. McDonough, Town Clerk <br />Clerk, in the amount of' $8,000.00 <br />In conjunction with MBTA's Suburban Transportation Program, the MBTA con - <br />Chairman noted request of James F. O'Leary, General Manager, for - tract LEK- <br />execution of a 6 -month service agreement, with the Town,.during which PRESS <br />period the Authority will pay one hundred percent of the net loss of <br />service, not to exceed fifty percent of the Town's appropriation. <br />Lexington will receive $60,000 for this program. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />service contract in conjunction with the Massachusetts Bay Transporta- <br />tion Authority Suburban Transportation Program, for a 6 -month period to <br />commence January 1, 19840 <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the Minutes <br />minutes of-the meeting of the Board of Selectmen on December 5, 1983. 1215183 <br />
