The Board discussed the letter received from Senator Charles M. <br />Campbell of the Hawaii State Senate requesting support for a "Teen -Age <br />Assembly of America Youth Against Drugs Project. <br />The Board agreed to refer the request to our Youth Commission, Sena - <br />tor Campbell will be so notified. <br />Russek/ The Board discussed the minutes of the Russek /Myers Dog Hearing held <br />Myers Dog on October 13, <br />Hearing Mr. Politi informed the Board that it was brought out at the hearing <br />that Ms. Myers had agreed to remove the dog from the town. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted that Ms. Myers is <br />to be informed that the dog is to be removed f rom the town immediately if <br />this has not already been done. <br />Minutes Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the minu- <br />tes of the Selectmen's Meeting of October 4. <br />Haloween The Board discussed the possibility of a ban on "trick or treat" on <br />Trick or Halloween due to the concern expressed by many citizens because of the re- <br />Treat cent Tylenol_ poisionings in Chicago. <br />The Chairman informed the Board that he had spoken to Town Counsel <br />and the Police Chief regarding the matter and they had stated that they <br />did not think the Board could issue such an order and have it enforceable <br />.without having the proper hearings and a change in the Town By -Laws. <br />It was agreed that the Board, through the Minute Man, would issue <br />a statement to parents to take precautions and abide by the Safety Tips <br />issued by the Board of Health and the Police Department. <br />The Chairman suggested that'the Minute Man also remind the citizens <br />that the Rotary Club was sponsoring a "Haunted House at Muzzey School <br />on Friday evening from 7 :00 - 10 :00 p.m., Saturday from 3:00 - 10:00 p.m. <br />and Sunday from 3:00 - 10:00 p.m. The admission fee is $1.50 but with <br />coupons from the Minute Man admission is $1.00. All the proceeds will be <br />.donated to the Charlie Davidson Lukemia Fund. <br />The Manager is to contact Dr. Pierson, Superintendent of Schools, <br />and arrange to have copies.of the Safety Tips sent home with the school <br />children on Friday, October 29. <br />Adv, Committee The Board discussed the formation of the Advisory Committee for <br />for Alter - Alternative Tax Revenues and voted to approve the following charge to the <br />native Tax Committee: <br />Revenues "A Committee of seven members shall review revenue resources <br />of the Town and anticipated demands on those resources. The <br />Committee shall investigate and recommend alternative sources <br />of funding other than the property tax to support basic muni- <br />cipal services. <br />The Committee shall further look at Federal and State legis- <br />
