SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />May 17, 1982 <br />A. regular meeting . f the Board of Selectmen was held in the Select- <br />men Meeting Room, Town office Building, on Monday, May 17, 1982 at <br />7 P.M. Chairman Busa, Mrs. Battin, Mr. Crain, Mr. Politi,.r, Sacco; <br />Mr. Hutchinson, Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel; Miss Adler, Assist- <br />ant to -the Town Manager and Miss Casey, Executive Clerk were present. <br />The Chairman convened the meeting and announced that he had-received Liq. Lic. <br />correspondence from the Drummer Boy Condominium dissociation that the hear- Hearing <br />ing scheduled for 7:30 P.M. on the application of the Middlesex Tennis Middlesex <br />Club for an All Alcoholic Beverages License conflicted with the annual Tennis Clb <br />meeting of the Drummer Boy Condominium Association. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted-to adjourn the hear - <br />ing on the application of the Middlesex Tennis Club for an All Alcoholic <br />Beverages License scheduled for 7:30 P.. in order to give the abutters <br />an opportunity to present their views. <br />Mrs. Jacquie Smith of the Hanscom Field Advisory Commission met with Hanscom <br />the Board to report on the 18 month review for the Noise Rules at Hanscom Field <br />Field by the firm of Harris, Miller and Miller. She reported that the Mass- Comm. <br />port staff is now preparing its rommendat..ion to the MPA Board on the fu- <br />ture of the . NoiseRules. which should be the subject of a public hearing late <br />in May. She reported that the Commission f eels that the lobbying group for <br />getting rid of the Night Rules at Hanscom is fairly strong and that surround- <br />ing towns should spear out and require a standard and inform Mas port they <br />don't want the noise to grog past' levels of 1981. <br />The Commission requested approval of the Board to make recommenda- <br />tions to Massport relative to the Noise Rules, <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the follow- <br />ing recommendations of the.. Haascom .. 'ield Commission to Ma sport '.relative to <br />the Noise Rules at Hanscom: <br />The Noise Rules should remain as they are while Massp.ort undertakes <br />the following studies <br />The impact of establishing a maximum allowable ddA level <br />as a requirement for use of Hanscom: <br />The impact of a range of options on night . operations <br />. from are absolute curfew to a voluntary one; <br />The impact of a noise - related landing fee; <br />The impact of a change to a 3000 ft. IR departure <br />ceiling; and <br />The impact of a preferential runway. <br />Mrs. Smith requested acceptance by the Board of the recommendation <br />of the League of women Voters that they be allowed to submit the name of a <br />
