ADJO URNED TOWN MEETING - MARCH 19, 1975 <br /> The meeting was called to order in Cary Memorial Hall at 8:04 P. M. by Lincoln <br /> P. Cole, Jr., Moderator. <br /> There were 188 Town Meeting Members present. <br /> The invocation was offered by Monsignor Martin U. McCabe, Pastor of the Sacred <br /> Heart Church.. 8:08 P. M. <br /> Article 2. Stephen Michael Politi moved that the report of the Lexington <br /> Bicentennial Committee be accepted and placed on file. <br /> 8:08 P. M. <br /> After Mr. Politi gave an explanation of his report his motion that the <br /> Bicentennial Report be accepted and placed on file was carried <br /> unanimously. 8:14 P. M. <br /> Levi G. Burnell moved that the report of the Cary Lectures Committee <br /> be accepted and placed on file. <br /> Carried Unanimously. 8:15 P. M. <br /> William T. Spencer inquired as to when the Town Manager's Report <br /> would be presented. 8:15 P. M. <br /> Allan F. Kenney, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, stated that due <br /> to other priorities, collective bargaining sessions and preparation <br /> for the town meeting etc., the Town Manager's report had been delayed <br /> but would probably be ready for next Monday's meeting. <br /> 8:15 P. M. <br /> Edward. E. Furash moved that the Supplemental Report of the Appropriation <br /> Committee be accepted and placed on file. <br /> Carried Unanimously. 8:21 P. M. <br /> Article 33. Presented by Howard M. Kassler. <br /> MOTION: That the sum of $23,000.00 be appropriated for engineering <br /> services for a study of the sanitary Landfill area of the town and <br /> areas adjacent thereto leading to a land management program, and that <br /> such amount be transferred from the Reserve Fund- Overlay Surplus. <br /> 8:22 P. M. <br /> Edward E. Furash stated that the Appropriation Committee supports <br /> this article. 8:44 P. M. <br /> After general discussion, John Deutch moved. the previous question <br /> which was declared carried by voice vote. <br /> 8:50 P. M. <br /> Motion, as offered by Mr. Kassler, declared carried by voice vote. <br /> 8:50 P. M. <br /> Article 34. Howard M. Kassler moved that this article be tabled. <br /> Carried Unanimously. 8:51 P. M. <br /> (See Page 67.) <br />
