(Adjourned Session of the 1983 Annual Town Meeting - May 16, 1983.) 9 <br /> After general discussion, the motion to reconsider Article 46, as offered <br /> by Mrs. Friedman, was declared lost by voice vote. 9:13 P.M. <br /> Article 51. HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION <br /> Presented by Mary W. Miley. <br /> MOTION: That the sum of $2,500. be appropriated for a contract <br /> with a licensed hazardous wastes transport, storage and disposal <br /> company to collect and dispose of residential hazardous wastes on <br /> a one -year trial basis; that such amount be raised in the tax <br /> levy; and that the Selectmen be authorized to select the con- <br /> tractor and to set user fees and take all other steps necessary <br /> to carry out this project. <br /> 9:13 P.M. <br /> Joan Z. Clark was recognized and gave a short explanation of this <br /> motion. 9:21 P.M. <br /> Motion was declared adopted by voice vote. 9:21 P.M. <br /> (See pages 209 -210) - -- <br /> James M. McLaughlin moved reconsideration of Article 10. 9:22 P.M. <br /> In his explanation of his motion, Mr. McLaughlin said that the lot reverts <br /> back to the Board of Selectmen. 9:25 P.M. <br /> Laura F. Nichols, Planning Board Member, spoke against reconsideration of <br /> Article 10. She explained that this is a major drainage area coming through <br /> here and it would be a mistake to make a building lot of this. <br /> 9:28 P.M. <br /> Stephen Michael Politi said that four members of the Board of Selectmen <br /> were in favor of reconsideration. 9:28 P.M. <br /> Motion to reconsider Article 10 was declared lost by voice vote. <br /> 9:31 P.M. <br /> Benjamin H. Golini moved reconsideration of Article 40. 9:32 P.M. <br /> (See Pages 260 -262) <br /> John F. Downey, Jr. served notice of reconsideration of Article 51. <br /> 9:32 P.M. <br /> Motion to reconsider Article 40 (Cont.) (See above) <br /> Mr. Golini explained that Emerald Street, although appearing in the warrant, <br /> was not included in the motion under Article 40 although the neighbors had <br /> made the necessary applications for acceptance over the past ten years. These <br /> people have been residents of Emerald Street for ten or more years. Mr. Golini <br /> showed slides of costs, rate of return etc. 9:42 P.M. <br /> Ralph F. Johnson, a resident at 16 Emerald Street since 1947, spoke from <br /> the balcony urging support for the acceptance of Emerald Street. 9:43 P.M. <br />
