.:. <br /> 251 <br /> ADJOURNED SESSION -- 1996 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING <br /> MAY 15, 1996 <br /> The meeting was called to order by Moderator Margery M. <br /> Battin, at 7:30 p.m. , in Cary Memorial Hall. <br /> A quorum was present. <br /> 7:30 p.m. The Moderator declared a recess. Andrew <br /> Friedlich, Chairman of the Town Meeting Members <br /> Association, declared the intent to honor Bernice (Bebe) <br /> Fallick, Town Clerk, on her resignation after ten years <br /> of service as Clerk. Gifts, resolutions, and kind words <br /> were offered by the State Represeweative, Town Manager, <br /> Senior Staff Members, Conservation Chair, Town Moderator, <br /> Town Counsel, TMMA Officers. Selectman Leo McSweeney <br /> read the following resolution: <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> Whereas: Town Clerk Bernice "Bebe" Fallick will be <br /> leaving her position after the dissolution of this Town <br /> Meeting; and <br /> Whereas: Bebe has served the Town of Lexington a•s its <br /> Town Clerk over the past ten years with the highest <br /> skill, professionalism, integrity, caring and wit; and <br /> Whereas: Bebe has continued to pursue her cultural, <br /> historical and ecological interests; and <br /> Whereas: Bebe has promised to keep up her dedicated <br /> service to the town in a volunteer capacity; and <br /> Whereas: Bebe has followed a tradition of successfully <br /> nurturing the Town Clerk's operation into a well run, <br /> efficient office of the Town; and <br /> Whereas: Bebe has, over the years, amassed an incredible <br /> number of admiring friends, constituents and elected <br /> officials; <br /> Now Therefore: Be it resolved that we hereby give Bebe <br /> our sincere thanks, applause and well wishes; <br /> And Further. That these proceedings be recorded in the <br /> permanent records of the Town of Lexington. <br /> Given under our hands this fifteenth day of May, 1996. <br /> Leo P. McSweeney; William J. Dailey, Jr. ; Daniel P. Busa, <br /> Jr. ; Dan H. Fenn, Jr. ; Elizabeth B. Eddison -- Selectmen <br /> of Lexington <br /> The Moderator called the Meeting to order at 7:55 p.m. <br /> ARTICLE 2 REPORTS <br /> 8:01 p.m. Paul Hamburger, Long Range Planning Committee, <br /> spoke of a long term plan into which an operating plan <br /> can fit, and meetings with the School Committee and Board <br /> of Selectmen. <br /> Joyce Miller, Chairman of the Conservation Commission, <br /> urged the return of the Open Space and Recreation Survey. <br /> 8:07 p.m. Mrs. Miller moved that Article 24 be brought up <br /> at this time. Following a voice vote, the Moderator <br /> declared Article 24 to be before the Meeting. <br /> r...y..s <br />
