3 <br /> ADJOURNED SESSION - 1996 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING <br /> MAY 1, 1996 <br /> The meeting was called to order by Moderator Margery M. <br /> Battin, at 8 p.m. , in Cary Memorial Hall. <br /> A quorum was present. <br /> ARTICLE 2 REPORTS <br /> 8:09 p.m. Town Manager Richard White stated that the <br /> budget was out of balance and proffered several solutions <br /> which the Board of Selectmen were considering. <br /> 8:11 p.m. Nyles Barnert reported for Minuteman School. <br /> ARTICLE 4 OPERATING BUDGET • <br /> 8:16 p.m. The Moderator continued the reading of Article <br /> 4: <br /> 1200 Minuteman Regional School 432,919 <br /> 8:17 p.m. Nyles Barnert presented information. <br /> 8:29 p.m. Paul Lapointe, Appropriation Committee, made <br /> the following motion: <br /> that Line Item 1200 Minuteman Regional School be <br /> amended from $432,919 to $424,087, a reduction of <br /> $8,832. <br /> 8:42 p.m. Selectman McSweeney stated unanimous Board <br /> opposition to the amendment. <br /> 8:47 p.m. Superintendent Fitzgerald presented details <br /> for Minuteman. <br /> There was continued discussion and questions. <br /> Following a voice vote at 9:00 p.m. , the Moderator <br /> declared passage of the amendment. Sufficient members <br /> stood to doubt the vote. <br /> The Moderator called for a standing vote which was <br /> tallied as follows: <br /> Precinct Yes No Abstain <br /> 1 11 5 <br /> 2 10 7 <br /> 3 9 7 <br /> 4 11 4 <br /> 5 11 9 <br /> 6 13 5 <br /> 7 11 5 <br /> 8 6 10 <br /> 9 10 3 <br /> At large 12 7 <br /> Totals 104 62 <br /> 9:03 p.m. The Moderator declared the adoption of the <br /> amendment, ( Line Item 1200 Minuteman Regional School <br /> $424,087) <br /> 1200 Minuteman Regional School - Lexington Middle <br /> School Technical Literacy Program 48,328 <br /> - .. - -r- I. ..
