The town has had 16 2-hour parking <br /> meters on this land for decades, and now as part of the Grain Mill Alley improvement project wants to <br /> install an alternative transportation node on a small portion of the property. <br /> This small triangular parcel is 3,791 sq. ft.,and is bounded by the Minuteman Commuter Bikeway, Edison <br /> Way, the entrance to the Depot Square Attended Parking Lot, and the Grain Mill Alley path across the <br /> Bikeway. <br /> 49 4 <br /> 49-5A <br /> 140 <br /> 10 <br /> / 4 -12A f <br /> ny <br /> Source: https://lexingtonma.mapgeo.io/ <br /> In the 1960's the B&M Railroad discontinued use of the Lexington Depot building and sold it and its land, <br /> along with this parcel to Depositors Trust Company. In 1999 Depositors closed this branch and sold their <br /> holdings to the LHS. <br /> The Town enjoyed public use and access of this property while the Trust Co. occupied the building. With <br /> permission of the landowner,the Town installed parking meters during Central Business District Improve- <br /> ments in the mid 1960's. The town has maintained the parking spaces and adjacent landscaping,cleared the <br /> snow,and collected meter revenue. The LHS continued to allow public access and for this use to continue. <br /> At the 2015 Annual Town Meeting,Article 8(o)appropriated CPA funds to design improvements to either <br /> end of Grain Mill Alley.
