Dr. Rotberg repeated his comments of a prior meeting which ex- MAX-ED pressed concern for the title of Max-Ed Coordinator and the salary as- COORDINATOR signment which he felt was not commensurate with responsibilities as presented. Mr. Michelman also expressed his hope to retain student contact as a priority item. He refreshed the committee as to his remarks of the prior meeting which he felt were still valid. Mr. Wadsworth then moved that a maximum of $20,000 be established for the filling of the position to be titled, Max-Ed Coordinator and that any balance be used for secretarial services which should be neces- sary, beyond that already available at the senior high school for the program. The motion was seconded by Mr. Brown. Dr. Rotberg stated that the position was incorrectly titled and the salary was blatant lob inflation. He moved to amend the motion as follows: That a title change to Facilitator of Max-Ed be established and place $15,000 in the budget for the position. The motion was seconded by Mr. Michelman. Mr. Michelman expressed his concern that one person could or could not do all there was to be done. He asked whether spending more money would relieve the problem or whether available staff time would be need- ed. Mrs. Swanson replied that the position as recommended by the Citi- zen's Group and Superintendent might be a workable solution. Dr. Rotberg responded saying the title was incorrect, the role de- scription was unclear, and salary was too high for the responsibilities listed.
