Ordered <br /> Town the Clerk to give the Constables Warrants to 'Afarn <br /> Meeting a Town Meeting to be on the 24 Instant-, at , two <br /> darned oClock P M to Act on the following Articles Viz <br /> Upon a request of the Militia Officers to See <br /> what method the Town will take in rating one <br /> Third part of the Ven belonging to the Training <br /> Band and Alarm List to serve for the defence of <br /> the New England States , agreeable to a late order <br /> of the , Gen Assembly of this State. And for the Town <br /> to Act and do as they may Judge proper in or about <br /> said Article <br /> At a Meeting of the Freeholders and other Inhabitants <br /> Town of the Town of Lexington, legally assembled on the <br /> Meeting 24 Day of , Septr 1778® Capt Thaddeus Bowman being <br /> chosen Moderator® Voted that the Men who shall <br /> engage to U=arch on the present Alarm., shall be <br /> intitled to receive cfrom this Town 15O per Month <br /> including the Courts pay , & excluding their Milage <br /> the Meeting then Dissolved ® <br /> At a Meeting of Selectmen on 29 Octor 1778 <br /> Town Ordered the Clerk to give the Constables garrants <br /> Meeting to Vlarn a Town Meeting to be on Wednesday the 4th <br /> Warned Day of Novemr . 1778 at one Clock P M. to Act on <br /> the following Articles . Viz - <br /> Upon a request of a Number of Inhabitants of this <br /> Town to see if the Town will make any further <br /> Addition to the Revd Er Clarks Salary . or afford <br /> him help in any other gay . <br /> To See how the Town will dispose of the Fire Arms <br /> assigned to this Town by the General Assembly of <br /> this Stat <br /> To see if the Town will impower their ?reasurer to <br /> to Give his Notes on behalf of the for the Money <br /> Borrowed by the Committees to hire the Men required <br /> of this Town to reinforce the Army at Rhode Island <br /> in June and in Septemr last <br /> To <br /> ( 2 ) <br /> To see if the Town will Sell the Pines growing on <br /> the Town Land between the Road leading to to Dea <br /> Stones and the Swamp , And for the to Act & do as <br /> they shall judge proper in or about the abovesaid <br /> Articles - <br /> At a Meeting of the Freeholders and other Inhabi- <br /> T'own tants of the Town of Lexington legally assembled <br /> Meeting Novr o 4 1778 Ensign Farrington being chosen.
