Court at Cambridge on Tuesday <br />in July Currant to take off ye Reasons of Captn <br />Reeds relateing to Thomas Kendals way through <br />to Reeds Land; and to take all ye care he can <br />to defend Sd Town against Sd Reeds .appeal; <br />July Pursuant to ye orders of ye Select Caen on June <br />23 24: above to be Bils were passed upon ye <br />1717 Treasurer, Cap Reeds Bills amounted to 11 you <br />At a Meeting of ye Select Men of Lexington July 21 <br />1717; 11 Benj Welenton appeared before ye <br />select men and took ye Oath of a Assesor he <br />being chose thereto by ye Town May; 31: 1717. <br />Likewise; Then agreed yt Clerk. Laurances wife and , <br />Ephraim ginships wife keep Schools; from ye -day <br />of ye Date hereof; until ye Last day of October <br />next following; and if they have not Scholors <br />Sufficient to number; to amount to 5 shillings <br />ye week, at 3 pence hhold week; Dureing ye <br />Time abovesd; Then ye Town to make up what <br />shall be wanting of ye 5 Shillings Meek as <br />above exoressied; out of Treasury thereof; <br />provided ye sd Select men do not see cause to <br />Demolish Sd Shoals before Sd Term be expired; <br />& if they do to be allowed for ye time they <br />keep, in proportion as above expressed - <br />Likewise Then appointed Joseph Estabrooke to tare <br />care yt there be a School exactly under ye <br />Same Regulation and allowance, Set up in ye <br />other part of ye Town; Viz: at ye Widow Stones or <br />nowhere unto; <br />Likewise Then appointed ye Clerk to pass a 'Tail of <br />twenty and Six Shilli•its d nine pence; for <br />Captn Reed in full fog "'` un hien relateing to <br />ye way t id out for T Kendal after restored to <br />sd Reed upon ye Treasury of ye Town of Lexington; <br />Pursuant Wye Order of ye Select Men July 21: 1717: <br />a bill 11 1- sh6-dl for Reed; for his Damage as <br />above expressed; was drawn upon ye Treasury <br />(16) <br />At a Meeting of Select men of Lexington August; 26:1717; <br />Then they agreed with Joseph Estabrooke to keep School <br />for ye Town to begin Sd School on ye first day of; <br />November next Ensuing .ye Date hereof & to keep it <br />untill ye Last day of March next following Sd Esta- <br />brooke to have one day in a month at his own di's- <br />'pose; with in Sd Terme; & for his Service in keep- <br />ing of Sd School 3d :Terme; he shall at. ye Expira- <br />tion of it; have fifteen pounds paid him out of ye <br />publique Treasury of Sd Town; Sd .Estabrooke; to <br />keep ye accompt of all ye Scholors yt shall come <br />
