Following discussion, it was decided that the <br />Planning Board would not oppose the granting of the petition and would make <br />no comment. <br />Mr. MacKenzie read from Section 11 of the Zoning By -Law which is concerned <br />with scope of inspection of building excavations prior to pouring of founda- <br />tion. Ile will confer with the Building Inspector on the matter of preven- <br />tion of errors in the placement of buildings in subdivisions. <br />Mr. Briggs reported on conversation with Herman Erickson on his proposal ERICKSON <br />for rezoning of a parcel at Piper Road from RO to CR zone, and Mr. Erick- PIPER ROAD <br />son's request for the view of the Planning, Board on such a proposal. <br />Following discussion of the matter, the members expressed opposition, on <br />the basis of difficult topography, access, traffic impact on Piper Rd., <br />inadequate area for office and research park construction. The position of <br />the Board was not to support a land use more intensive than RO on the parcel. <br />Mrs. Brown reported on communication from MAPC on the Massport request for MASTER PLAN <br />funding of a Master Plan for Hanscom Field. Mrs. Brown will transmit HANSCOM FLD. <br />Lexington's view in favor of a technically prepared plan conditional upon <br />assurance of Lexington participation, the preparation, and consideration of <br />impact on Lexington regarding access and air traffic. <br />Letter and related material from Mrs. Wayne Solomon, dated October 4, 1974, <br />asking that the Planning Board discuss the Flood Disaster Act of 1973, and <br />its relevance to Lexington, was noted. Mr. Brown, who was sent the material <br />by Mr. Briggs, will review and report to the Board and will prepare a letter <br />of acknowledgement to be sent to Mrs. Solomon. <br />Dr. Clarke reported on results of his efforts to obtain services of legal LEGAL COUN- <br />counsel for the Planning Board in the St. Brigid's housing case. EstimatesSEL ST.BRIG. <br />of fees given by several attorneys, at or below the $2,000 figure, were HOUSING <br />given. The members asked that Dr. Clarke contact other lawyers and report <br />to the Planning Board on their qualifications. Because of an element of <br />time within which the Planning Board can enter the case, Dr. Clarke was <br />authorized to proceed to engage the services of an suitable attorney. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m. <br />Paul J.
