A letter which was received from Spaulding & Slye Corp. and Moore <br />Homes, Inc, outlining the proposals for housing for people of low and <br />' moderate income in the Lexington Green site was reviewed. Mr. Moore <br />has informed members of his intention to present an Article to the <br />Town Meeting in March for rezoning of the site. Mr. Zaleski will <br />prepare a draft of a letter to both developers, requesting more infor- <br />mation on the subsidy structure and inqufring about legal devices to <br />insure continuance of availability of homes for moderate income buyers. <br />A copy of this letter will be sent to the Lexington Housing Authority <br />after approval by the Board. The Planning Board will confer with the <br />Housing Authority after receipt of replies from the developers. <br />The replies from the three companies contacted regarding soil and <br />drainage studies were reviewed. Reference to Mr. Zaleski's memoran- <br />dum of 12.23.71 about the information from Mr. O'Connell concerning <br />the possibility of a consolidated fund for professional consultant <br />services was made. After discussion of Planning Board need for <br />recommendations as to action as well as for facts on soil conditions <br />to be included in reports from consultants, it was decided that an <br />Article would be prepared, requesting an appropriation of funds for <br />such studies, amount to be specified at a later time, for inclusion <br />in the Warrant. <br />Page 2 <br />LEXINGTON GREEN <br />SPAULDING,SLYE, <br />MOORE <br />ESTIMATED COSTS <br />SITE INVESTIG. <br />REPLIES: M&E, <br />J. CORTELL, <br />HALEY&ALDRICH <br />The chairman informed the Board that due to lack of response to the LAND ACQUISITION <br />Selectmen's request for policy statements by two of the committees POLICY STATEMENT <br />involved, the meeting of the Selectmen, Planning Board, Conservation <br />Commission, Recreation, Appropriations and Capital Expenditures <br />committees regarding alnd acquisition policies has been postponed. <br />The draft of the Article regarding commercially sponsored recreation <br />facilities was amended as per suggestion of the Town Manager, omitting <br />skeet and trap shooting and polo from the list of permitted activities. <br />COMM. Mrs. Brown and Mr. Zaleski gave resumes of their telephone SUBD./COLBOURNE <br />conversations with Mr. Legro regarding his recommendations on pro- <br />cedures of the Board in the absence of a reply from the Town Engr. to <br />questions on construction specifications. Mr. Perley, engineer for <br />Mr. Colbourne, will be asked to make several changes on plans before <br />Jan. 3, 1972, and Francis Jenney, attorney, will be contacted con- <br />cerning the possibility that he was given power of attorney by <br />Mr. Colbourne. <br />A discussion or meeting is to be scheduled with the Selectmen in the SELECTMEN, MTG. <br />near future for a review of subdivision street standards. ST. STANDARDS <br />A memorandum received from Thomas M. Wenham, Asst.
