1 <br />1 <br />2-17-58 <br />The Board spent the rest of the meeting <br />preparing a plan of access to the proposed <br />regional shopping center project and a state- <br />ment concerning said project, both to be pub- <br />lished in an issue of the Lexington Minute -man. <br />It was decided that Mr. Abbott would have the <br />plan prepared in final form for reproduction and <br />that Mr. Snow would have the draft of the state- <br />ment typed and distributed for further consider- <br />ation by the Board at a special meeting to be <br />held on February 22, 1958 at 2:00 p.m. in the <br />Planning Board office. <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:50 p.m. <br />Levi G. Burnell, Jr. <br />Clerk <br />ADDENDUM <br />REGIONAL <br />SHOPPING <br />CENTER <br />PROPOSAL <br />February 19, 1958 <br />Board of Selectmen <br />Town Office Building Re: Petition to change name <br />Lexington 73, Mass. of portion of Winter St. <br />Gentlemen: <br />Reference is made to the petition to change to <br />Volunteer Lane that portion of Winter Street extend - <br />Ing from Grove Street to Rangeway, said petition <br />having been signed by eleven citizens and referred <br />by you to the Planning Board. <br />The Board noted that because Winter Street was not <br />laid out at present from Sky View Road to Rangeways <br />persons not familiar with local conditions are <br />easily confused when they come to what appears to <br />be the end of Winter Street and have to travel from <br />one section of said street to another in a circuitous <br />route over portions of Sky View Road and Rangewa7. <br />It is pointed out, however, that while a name change <br />would temporarily alleviate the present confusion, it <br />would only add to it later on when Winter Street be- <br />comes one continuous paved road with a different name <br />
