1 <br />1 <br />Concerning the plans.accom_'ying applications <br />#57-94 to #57-99bb inclusive, goard <br />the decided' to with- <br />hold action on said plans pending further submission <br />of data. Thereupon, it was moved, seconded and <br />unanimously <br />VOTED: that the plans.accompanying_applications <br />#57-97 and #57-98 be signed bearing the <br />endorsement, "Lexington Planning Board' <br />approval under Subdivision Control Law not <br />required." <br />MASTER <br />Mr. Snow stated that he was preparing in written <br />PLAN <br />form various-sectioris`of the long-range development <br />plan to accompany those recommendations which had been <br />prepared to date. He asked the Board to give consid- <br />eration to'the objectives it had in mind in proposing <br />that the'Town.-provide funds for technical assistance <br />in preparing,said plan and at a later date inform him <br />of these objectives, particularly. in regard to the <br />type of town it was desired that Lexington should be. <br />He said that this ' information should be translated into <br />a propos ed land- us a plan, showing how much land and- <br />where it was expected eventually to propose for various <br />types of residential, commercial and industrial oavel- <br />opment . <br />PROPOSED ROAD- <br />'" Mr. Snow next discussed with the Board informa- <br />WOOD TO <br />tion he had obtained from Mr. Patts of the Mass. Dept. <br />BEDFORD STS. <br />of 'Public Works Right-of-Way Division in regard to <br />accessibility of land along the proposed road between <br />Woodto Bedford Streets. Rr. Snow also reviewed with <br />the'`Board its understanding that the road would be of <br />limited access as set forth in Mr.Snow's February 25, <br />1957 letter to Mr. Whitcomb of said Department of <br />Public'Works and Chief Engineer Gray's reply of Febru- <br />ary 27, 1957. No action was taken in regard to the <br />matter. <br />ROUTE 2. <br />The Board next ,examined topsgraphical data and <br />RE-DESIGN <br />studies which had been obtained in regard to proposals <br />for the Watertown Street -Route 2 and Spring, Street. <br />Route 2 interchanges. After a discussion of this in- <br />formation Mr. Snow was asked to prepare studies of - <br />said Spring Street intersection to see if some scheme <br />could be devised to handle the amount of automobile <br />traffic which might be' generated by a regional shop- <br />ping, center project proposed .for the Swenson-Hayden <br />properties. It was agreed to meet on Friday evening <br />to discuss these studies prior to meeting for the <br />same purpose with the Board of Selectmen the follow- <br />ing morning. - <br />1 <br />1 <br />
