1 <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />August 26,1957 <br />A regular meeting of the Planning Board was held <br />in the Town Engineer's Room, Town Office Building, on <br />Monday, August 26, 1957 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Chair- <br />man Grindle, Members Abbott, Burnell, Jaquith and Soule. <br />Town Counsel Stevens was present from 8:15 to 8:45 p.m. <br />The Board approved the minutes of July 22 and MINUTES <br />August 19, 1957. <br />Approved also were the following bills which BILLS <br />had been presented for payment: Minute -man Publica- <br />tions, advertising --$3.67; L.E.Muran Co., duplicating <br />aper --$9.00; Spaulding -Moss Co., drafting supplies-- <br />4.20; Daley Office Supply Co., one box master units-- <br />6.10. <br />The Board took under consideration the applica- <br />tion for definitive approval of Burnham Farms Section 1 <br />subdivision plan. The bond having been submitted and <br />all other matters appearing to be in proper order it <br />was moved by Mr. Soule, seconded by Mr. Burnell and <br />unanimously <br />VOTED: that the definitive subdivision plan <br />entitled "Burnham Farms Section One <br />Lexington -Massachusetts", dated May 13, <br />1957 which was submitted to the Board <br />by Moore Realty Trust, Mark Moore, Jr., <br />Trustee, on July 15, 1957 accompanied <br />by an application for approval of de- <br />finitive plan Form C dated July 9, 1957 <br />be and hereby is approved. <br />Chairman Grindle and Mr. Jaquith reported on a <br />meeting held with Miss Edith W. Willard of 66 North St. <br />to discuss the possibility of the town acquiring for <br />recreational purposes the Willard property located on <br />North Street and consisting of approximately 57 acres. <br />It was stated Miss Willard was agreeable to a urchase <br />price of 360,000, $10,000 to be paid down and 410,000 <br />a year to be paid during the remainder of a six-year <br />period. It was further stated that no interest charges <br />had been mentioned by either Miss Willard or Messrs. <br />Grindle and Jaquith. <br />They reported that Miss Willard insisted that <br />no entrance should be made to the property from any <br />point directly across from her present home on North <br />Street or any change be made on North Street during <br />BURNHAM <br />FARMS <br />SEC. 1 <br />WILLARD LAND <br />FOR <br />RECREATIONAL <br />PURPOSES <br />
