PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />I <br />January 21 1957 <br />A regular meetinf of the Planning Board was held <br />in the Town Engineer s Room, Town Office Building, <br />on Wednesday, January 2 1957 at 7:50 p.m. Chairman <br />Hathaway, Messrs. Burne Grindle and Jaquith were <br />present as were Mr. Snow, Planning Director, and the <br />secretary. <br />The Board approved the following bills presented BILLS <br />for payment: H. B. McArdle, office supplies --$4.70; <br />Samuel P. Snow, reimbursement for postage, office <br />supplies and car mileage for November and December -- <br />$21.54; Bruce E. Howlett, Professional services <br />through December 31, 1956-4127.00; Ma G. Campbell, <br />secretarial services through December 28, 1956--$20.00. <br />Approved also were the minutes of the Board's MINUTES <br />December 15, 1956 meeting. <br />Read to the Board was the draft of a letter STREET <br />addressed to the Selectmen, dated December 2$119563, OPTIONS <br />stating that the 'Board had obtained two options for <br />' easements it was recommending the Town acquire as a <br />location for the extension of Eldred Street from <br />Justin to Grove Streets and enclosing one conformed <br />copy of each ofsaid agreements obtained from _Lawrence <br />H. With erell and Richard H. and Phoebe H. Soule. The <br />letter further requested that a town way be laid out <br />across the land included in the agreements and that <br />if the Selectmen think this should be done that they <br />have a layout of the extension made, hold a public <br />hearing on the matter and then put the question of <br />acceptance of the layout in the Warrant for the 1957 <br />Annual Town Meeting. The Board approved the letter <br />which was signed by the Chairman. <br />Read to the Board was the Selectmen's December 27, EXCHANGE OF <br />1956 letter replying to the Planning Board's letter TAX TITLE <br />of December 17, 1956. The Selectmen's letter stated LOTS FOR <br />that the Board of Selectmen was in favor of the RECREATION <br />Planning Board's suggestion that the latter Board. LAND <br />discuss with Mr. Busa the possibility of exchanging <br />tax title lots for property the town might acquire <br />for recreational purposes. <br />Read to and approved by the Board and then TOWN <br />signed by the Chairman was a letter dated January 33 MAP <br />' 1956 and addressed to the Selectmen stating that the <br />firm working on the new town map estimated it would <br />complete its contract within the next two months and <br />
