1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />Dr. Asarkof said he gets complaints on a daily basis about the eating <br />places here in town. <br />Mr. Smith said when Jacqy goes out for an inspection and finds a place <br />really dirty she sends them a "certified" letter telling them she wants <br />the place cleaned up - then goes back in about three weeks for re -inspec- <br />tion. <br />A question was asked about Salmonella and the restaurants. <br />Mr. Smith said that if a place is just messy there is no reason to be <br />concerned but if the food is not protected/maintained properly then we <br />have to warn the food managers. <br />Mr. Smith said that catering can also be a problem. We license all <br />caterers and check where they obtain their food, how it is handled in <br />travel, etc. <br />Mr. Smith told Dr. Goldmann he could get involved and give lectures to <br />food handlers on communicable disease, food storage, etc. <br />Dr. Finkelstein feels that this food business should really be taken <br />seriously. Perhaps come up with a policy that we can enforce for all of <br />these places and close them down for serious violations. <br />The Board suggested keeping a record of the violations and <br />second time - bring them in for a hearing before the Board <br />Dr. Asarkof asked about doing something for Mr. Lambie who <br />the Board of Health as a member and the Chairman recently. <br />after the <br />of Health. <br />retired from <br />It was decided that the Board members and the Director would take Mr. <br />Lambie out to dinner at Cory's Restaurant one evening soon. <br />The Board voted to contact the School Department and ask for a copy of <br />their AIDS policy and to invite Dr. Robert Delulio, Head of Guidance, <br />into the next Board of Health meeting. <br />Next meeting of the Board of Health will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 1986. <br />The Following permits were signed by the Board: <br />Retail Food Stores <br />Lexington Seafoods <br />182 Bedford Street <br />Pasta, Etc., Etc. <br />321 Woburn Street <br />Catering Permits <br />Castiello's Bakery/Feli/Eatery <br />1721 Mass.
