394 <br />Street <br />Lights <br />Wild Acre <br />Inn <br />Committee <br />on filling <br />vacancies <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />January 14, 1974 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was <br />men's Meeting Room, Town Office Building, on Monday, <br />at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Kenney, Messrs. Bailey, Buse, <br />Riffin; Mr. O'Connell, Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, Town <br />McSweeney, Director of Public Works/Engineering; Mrs <br />tive Clerk, were present. <br />held in the Select - <br />January 14, 1974, <br />Brown and Mrs. <br />Counsel; Mr. <br />. McCurdy, Execu- <br />Mr. O'Connell discussed additional street lights requested by the <br />Traffic Safety Committee, and approved by the Public Works Department, <br />for improvements in the areas. <br />Chairman Kenney: We can vote approval but Mr. McSweeney should <br />find out when Boston Edison can install them. If they can't give high <br />priority, we can postpone until next fall. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to instruct the <br />director of Public Works/Engineering to order the installation of the <br />street lights at the following locations; Massachusetts Avenue, Slocum <br />Road, Brookside Avenue, Waltham Street and Vaille Avenue. <br />Mr. Cohen advised the Board that he had talked with the Attorney <br />representing Wild Acre Inn and was informed that there will be no <br />change in the type of operation since the new owner has taken over. <br />It is a lodging house and they will take patients for 3, 4 or 5 days. <br />Chairman Kenney: Are we to understand that it is not a half -way <br />house? <br />Mr. Cohen: It is not. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />application of Dr. Bernard Yudowitz and to sign the Lodging House <br />License for Lexington Wild Acre Inn at 50 Percy Road. <br />Chairman Kenney said that we are submitting an Article in Town <br />Meeting on the method of filling a vacancy on the School Committee. <br />We will appoint a committee to investigate and report back to the Se- <br />lectmen on the best way of accomplishing this. Mrs. Riffin could <br />represent the Board, the School Committee recommendsGeorgeWadsworth, <br />and Frank Michelman to represent the Town Meeting Members Association. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to appoint Mrs. <br />Natalie Riffin, George Wadsworth, and Frank Michelman members of an <br />Advisory Committee on Filling Vacancies on the School Committee and <br />the Board of Selectmen, and to report back to the Selectmen before <br />Town Meeting. <br />Chairman Kenney read a letter from the <br />Lexington requesting approval of the use of the Green <br />Minute Men cises. <br />Green Upon motion duly made and seconded, it <br />quest of the Lexington Minute Men, Inc. for <br />following dates: June 9 and 23; July 14 and <br />Lexington Minute Men, Inc. <br />for "Living History" exer- <br />was voted to approve the re - <br />the use of the Green on the <br />28; August 11 and 25., 1974. <br />
