BOARD OF APPEALS <br />June 26, 1980 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room. <br />Present: Ruth Morey, Chairman <br />Woodruff M. Brodhead <br />Irving H. Mabee <br />Natalie H. Riffin <br />Thomas G. Taylor <br />Public hearings were held on the following petitions. <br />1837 Massachusetts Avenue, Miriam W. Butts, representing Books on the Green, Inc. <br />and Gallery on the Green, Ltd. - special permit for a projecting sign. <br />1844 Massachusetts Avenue, Jewel S. Douglass - special permit for a free standing <br />directory sign. <br />1734 Massachusetts Avenue, Gerald M. Gilbert, Snack -Time - to amend special permit <br />granted 4/15/80, condition #2, so as to allow Sunday hours (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) to <br />operate take out food service business at 1734 Mass. Ave. <br />2 and 3 Forbes Rd., Honeywell, Inc. - temporary special permit to allow 18 office <br />'trailers on the property. <br />Decisions filed with the Town Clerk. <br />1837 Mass. Ave. - unanimously granted. <br />1-844 Mass. Ave. - unanimously denied (see planning board recommendation to deny). <br />1734 Mass. Ave. - unanimously granted. <br />2 & 3 Forbes Rd. - unanimously granted (expires 7/31/81). <br />Eric T. Clarke, Associate Member, replaced Thomas G. Taylor as the Board began <br />its deliberations toward making decisions with respect to the hearings held on <br />June 12, postponed to June 26. <br />(Please see June 12, 1980 minutes.) <br />Eric T. Clarke had net with Achison Callahan of Palmer and Dodge with respect <br />to so-called "small lot problems" and made his report to the Board (written report). <br />Decisions filed with the Town Clerk. <br />21 Moreland Ave. (appeal) - Board of Appeals unanimously voted to uphold the Building <br />Commissioner (see decision filed with Town Clerk). <br />21 Moreland Ave. (Variance) - unanimously denied. <br />
