• <br />• <br />BOARD OF APPEALS <br />A meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the <br />Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building on Friday, January <br />7, 1944 at 9:00 P.M. Messrs. Locke, Maddison, Bowker and <br />Associate Members Brown and Redman were present. The Clerk <br />was also present. <br />Mr. Locke served as Chairman in the absence of Mr. <br />Glynn. <br />At 8:00 P.M. hearing was declared open upon the petition <br />of Luigi Ferrazzani for permission to alter the dwelling at <br />673 Waltham Street, Lexington, so as to accommodate two <br />families. <br />The notice of the hearing was read by Mr. Bowker. <br />Mr. Ferrazzani and his son, John Ferrazzani, were the <br />only persons present at the hearing. <br />Mr. Locke asked Mr. Ferrazzani to explain to the Board <br />what changes he wished to make in the house. Mr. Ferrazzani <br />replied that he wished to make the house into a two-family <br />residence, one apartment upstaris to be occupied by his son. <br />Mr. Locke asked if Mr. Ferrazzani lived in the house at the <br />present time and he replied in the affirmative. <br />Mr. Locke asked how many rooms there are now and Mr. <br />Ferrazzani replied that the house now contains twelve rooms. <br />Mr. Locke asked if anything had been done relative to obtain- <br />ing plans for the proposed alterations and Mr. Ferrazzani said <br />that he just wanted to make a kitchen and bathroom on the <br />second floor. <br />Mr, Locke asked how the house would be divided and Mr. <br />Ferrazzani said that the new apartment would be on the second <br />floor. Mr. Locke asked how many front doors there were and <br />Mr. Ferrazzani said that there would be one front door for the <br />upstairs apartment. Mr. Locke asked if there would be any <br />changes in the outside appearance of the house and Mr. <br />Ferrazzani's son, John, replied that there would be no changes. <br />Mr. Locke asked if John were going to live in the proposed <br />apartment and he replied that now his mother, father, sister and <br />he occupy the house. He is going to be married and will live <br />in the apartment on the second floor. <br />Mr. Bowker asked if the Ferrazzani family had lived in <br />this house very long and John replied that they had been <br />there since 1925. Mr. Bowker asked if there would be six <br />rooms upstairs and six rooms downstairs. John Ferrazzani <br />replied that there would be only four rooms upstairs. <br />95 <br />
