The new Minuteman bikeway <br /> access ramp on the north side of Maple Street is under construction, but concerns have <br /> been raised. The chair has been in contact with John Livsey, who said that MassDOT is <br /> not willing to make engineering changes at this point. <br /> Bikeway Signage. This project includes fabrication and installation of street signs and <br /> roadway markings along the Bikeway and at crossings. According to the Town <br /> Engineer, Bikeway signage is due to be installed soon. <br /> Progress on 2017 Roadway markings for Bicycle Accommodations. John Livsey <br /> was in touch to say that, as part of the DPW FY2018 budget line item, work is on-going <br /> to paint over 600 bicycle accommodation pavement markings. As of October 15, over <br /> 70 have been completed. <br /> Intersection of Massachusetts Avenue at Worthen Road <br /> On October 3, a public meeting was held regarding improvements to the intersection of <br /> Massachusetts Avenue at Worthen Road. Public comments on the design <br /> should be directed to transpsafety@lexingtonma.gov. <br /> Planning for Tri-Town's 25th anniversary celebration in 2018. Peggy reported that <br /> she, Suzy Enos, Jack Johnson, and Chris Tonkin met on the Bikeway and discussed <br /> plans for the 25th anniversary celebrations in 2018. Ideas included having officials go <br /> from town to town on their bikes, stopping at each town for a local ceremony. Chris <br /> Tonkin noted that the Arlington celebration would be at the Center in the historic <br /> building across from Bikeway. Bedford's celebration will be at the Bedford Depot. Peggy <br /> noted there will be another meeting on October 26 to set the date for the celebration. <br /> She will check if the visitor center is available on the selected date. <br /> Zagster Bike Share. Melissa Tintocallis, Lexington's Director of Economic <br /> Development, has spearheaded a two-year pilot of the Zagster bike share, and the <br /> LBAC chair has been involved in the planning process. Engineering/Public Works has <br /> installed the concrete pad for the station, on Meriam St adjacent to the visitor center. <br /> Helmets will be available at the Visitor Center. The ribbon cutting for the opening of the <br /> Minuteman Bike Share will be Friday, October 27 at 9 AM. Committee members are <br /> encouraged to attend. <br />
