• Thomas Romano, Youth and Family Program Coordinator reported on some recent programs. <br /> There are new adaptive programs and a plan to offer additional programming for children with <br /> special needs. <br /> • A new position for a part-time Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist has been requested <br /> as part of the FYI operating budget as a Program Improvement Request. <br /> • A program survey is being sent out after each session. There are an increasing number of <br /> responses. There was a suggestion to make the survey available on the website to increase <br /> responses. <br /> • Charlotte Rodgers, Director of Human Services,reported that they have gotten good feedback <br /> from the new format for the newsletter. There will be a Martin Luther King Day of Service <br /> event at Brookhaven from 1-3 pm on January 15th. This is a new format for the program. <br /> 4. Community Center Expansion Update <br /> The FY 19 Capital budget request included funds for Design documents for the expansion plan <br /> for the Community Center. There will be a presentation from DiNisco about options at the <br /> BOS meeting at 7pm on January 8th. <br /> 5. Liaison Reports <br /> • Lisah,Nancy,Christine and Melissa met with Carl Valente prior to our December meeting.We <br /> discussed our concerns about quorum issues and the charge of the committee. We plan to <br /> discuss this at the January meeting. <br /> • Melissa suggests that we plan to have combined meetings with the Recreation committee at <br /> least 2 times per year. It was suggested that the Council on Aging also be included at these <br /> meetings. <br /> • Sue Rockwell reminded us that the Historical Society holds the Preservation Agreement on the <br /> CC property and that some changes would need approval. <br /> • Archana reported that IAL will have a candidate forum before the March elections. <br /> • Lisah reported that on January 20th from 10-2,the Community Center will host an Open House <br /> that will focus on Summer Camps and Out of School Time Programs. <br /> • We discussed the idea of having a Volunteer Fair so members of the community could learn <br /> about volunteer opportunities in town. <br /> The next meeting of the Community Center Program Advisory Committee is scheduled to take <br /> place on Thursday, January 11, 2017 at 7:OOpm in Room 237 of the Lexington Community <br /> Center. <br /> The December 14, 2017 meeting of the Community Center Program Advisory Committee adjourned <br /> at 8:40pm. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Nancy Shepard <br /> Chair <br />
