2. Fire Station Project Update —Jeff McElravy (Tecton Architects) & Dennis Ross (Pacheco Ross Architects) Jeff and Dennis each reviewed their conceptual plan for the new Fire Station. One conception showed a modern look with straight lines and a lower roof line; while the other showed a little more of a traditional look utilizing an arch look around bay doors, entrance and some windows having dormers. The floor plans were essentially the same. • Parking for public access was addressed. Parking was shown on the Camellia Place Street side, up against the Fire Station building. The Memorial Flag & Memorial would be in the plaza at the main entrance on the Bedford Street side. • Bay heights of 18 feet provide easy space to use in the Mezzanine area on the 2nd floor, showing reorientation of the vestibule and training room. • HDC asked about the use of solar and possible use for thermal and Photovoltaic. HDC also mentioned panels that look like the roof which could lay flatter and not be seen. • It was mentioned there is a lot of storm water management to be addressed. • PBC asked about sustainability and PV locations, there was some discussion, but engineering work remains in these areas. The consensus at tonight's meeting was the modern design for the Fire Station was preferred. Motion to adjourn was made and seconded: Meeting adjourned at 9:25pm. PBC Meeting 07.12.17
