Hastings Project Update — Trip Elmore (Dore & Whittier) <br />(See Attached) <br />2. Fire Station Proiect —Jeff McElravv (Tecton Architects) and Denis Ross (Pacheco Ross Architects) <br />presenting with Chief John Wilson — Lexington Fire Department <br />The Meeting minutes of 5-4-17 were reviewed followed by brief discussion. Motion to approve the <br />PBC Meeting minutes of 5-4-17 as amended was made by Howard H., 2�d by Carl O. and <br />approved by the committee. <br />Jeff McElravy Began a review of a power point update on the project status. <br />Site Plan — Design Plan situated on site, team has been looking at storm water design options, geo- <br />thermal well options and conservation issues, and the next step is an informal discussion with <br />Conservation Agent and Engineering Office to finalize design approach. <br />The Floor plans and building elevations were discussed and topics bulleted below: <br />• A question was raised about the "museum space", Chief Wilson shared information on the <br />Antique Fire Truck and other materials that would be housed in this space. <br />• The mezzanine is approx. 2000sf and is planned to be used for storage and training, a second <br />means of egress is not required. <br />• Visitor arrival to the building and circulation within the building was discussed. <br />• PBC requested that design be refined at the stair locations to improve internal circulation. <br />• Possible switching of the Decontamination and Mechanical Room were discussed. <br />• Discussion on ability to identify the entry to the building and a number of opinions that the entry <br />needed to remain on Bedford Street. <br />• Several people did not like the "LEXINGTON FIRE DEPARTMENT' signage on the building. <br />• Discussion took place on preferences for modern vs traditional design approach. <br />201 BEDFORD STREET • LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02420 <br />
